05.04.2018 at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies organized a meeting with archivists of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the Federal Archival Agency of Russia A.V. Yurasov, Director of the State Archives of the Russian Federation Rogova L.A., Deputy Director of the Russian State Archive of Economics S.Degtev, Head of the Archives Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Omsk Region Rastyagaeva G.I., Chairman of the Committee for Archives of the Orenburg Region Rubin V.A., Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Archival Agency Chernenkov K.G. Russian guests were accompanied by the Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kozhagapanov Erlan, Director of the Department of Archives Affairs and Documentation Mustafina Aliya, Head of the Department of Archival Affairs and Documentation Toktarov A.S. , the director of the Central State Archive of Republic of Kazakhstan Mukataev D.S. and other archivists of our country. The Russian delegates were met by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs A.Khikmetov. The meeting was moderated by the faculty dean Mendigul Nogaybayeva and the head of the department of the world history, historiography and source studies Gulmira Sultangaliyeva. At the beginning of the meeting the deputy head of the Federal Archive Agency of the Russian Federation A.V. Yurasov told the students and faculty about the activities of the archive agency and the archival system of the Russian Federation. Larisa Rogovaya showed the students in the form of a presentation the activities of the State Archives of the Russian Federation, told about the possibilities of the electronic archive and about the availability of information in the Russian archives. During the meeting, a lot of questions were asked from the students, including the level of training of archival personnel in Russia, the relationship between archival business and IT, and the possibility of interdisciplinary approaches in the training of personnel, the importance of business archives in Russia. The guests noted that the questions asked by the students were very relevant at the time and gave a detailed and interesting answer to every question. Vice-rector for Academic Affairs А.К. Hikmetov thanked the guests for the informative conversation and noted the importance of the "Victory" project created by the archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In general, the meeting was very fruitful for students and faculty members. At the end of the meeting, Russian delegates expressed gratitude to the students for their interest in the archives and noted that they had chosen the right path. Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Erlan Kozhagapanov, having seen the interest of students in this specialty, noted that the state will strengthen support and said that the archival business of Kazakhstan in the future will be in reliable hands!
