Aim of EP |
The aim of the educational program "Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications" to provide training of qualified specialists in information and telecommunication technologies who are able to use the latest achievements in the field of radio engineering and telecommunications, who have the skills to work with electronic devices and devices, technical maintenance of telecommunications equipment, data processing with a given degree of accuracy, who can develop recommendations for the operation and support of network communication equipment. |

Expected learning outcomes EP |
Upon completion of this educational program, students are expected to be able to: 1. ON1. Explain the basic physical processes and mathematical apparatus, methods of the theory of electrical circuits, electrodynamics and the propagation of electromagnetic waves, circuitry in the construction of analog and digital devices, to describe various communication and data transmission systems, devices for digital and analog signal processing; ON2. Describe the principles of organization of modern information transmission systems, such as mobile communications, fiber-optic communication systems, satellite and radio-relay communication systems, microwave communication systems, IP telephony, multiservice subscriber access, multi-channel telecommunication systems, global and local networks, packet switched digital networks and wireless sensor networks for the design of such communication systems; ON3. Understand the principles of operation of embedded systems using programmable logic integrated circuits, microprocessors and microcontrollers for the analysis of digital and analog radio-electronic and radio-measuring devices, as well as encoding and digital signal processing devices; ON4. Apply mathematical and physical methods for calculating electronic circuits of analog and digital electronics, analysis of electrical circuits, electrodynamics of electromagnetic wave propagation, as well as machine learning of neural networks, to solve practical problems of radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications; ON5. Use software and circuit design of analog and digital radio-electronic and radio measuring circuits and communication systems for modeling antenna-feeder devices, microwave devices, wireless sensor networks, electronic devices, and coding and digital signal processing systems for radio engineering purposes; ON6. To systematize multichannel telecommunication systems and data transmission networks, and analyze ways to protect them from unauthorized access in order to increase the security of telecommunication networks; ON7. To develop radioelectronic, radio-measuring and built-in data transmission systems for organizing and monitoring the exchange of information using microprocessors, programmable logic integrated circuits, wireless sensors and software and hardware systems; ON8. Design telecommunication digital systems and packet-switched networks using a hardware-software complex to ensure the smooth operation of a multi-channel communication system, including multi-service subscriber access; ON9. To organize satellite, radio-relay, mobile, fiber-optic digital communication systems using antenna-feeder, microwave devices and software to ensure uninterrupted data reception and transmission; ON10. Use the skills of operation and diagnostics for testing, maintenance of electronic equipment, ensuring the protection of equipment from failures and unauthorized access, computer equipment and software for radio and telecommunication devices; ON11. Analyze modern methods of coding and processing, data transmission and analysis, modern communication technologies such as IP telephony, video communication and NGN nodes, multiservice subscriber access to assess the quality and integrity of data using neural networks and machine learning; ON12. Apply social and communicative skills, including in a foreign language, for effective teamwork, as well as have a systematic thinking of setting professional goals and objectives for further decision-making aimed at personal and professional growth, as well as form a personal and worldview point of view, to defend a civic position, to commercialize the results of professional activity in conditions of limited environmental and economic resources. |

Human resource potential: At the department work: -11 doctors of physical and mathematical science and technical science; -12 professors; -22 candidates of physical and mathematical sciences and technical sciences; -16 associate professors; -18 Doctors PhD. The program is aimed at training specialists capable of performing the following types of professional activities in the future: 1. Development of program plans and testing procedures; 2. Participate in experiments, monitoring and measurements, compiling their characteristics and conclusions in the development, modernization and operation of telecommunication equipment; 3. Carrying out a technical justification of decisions on the development of telecommunication systems and networks, as well as systems of radio engineering and electronics; 4. Installation and commissioning of technical equipment of radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications; 5. Operation of radio engineering, electronic and telecommunication systems, as well as their hardware, information and software; 6. The use of algorithms and programs for calculating the parameters of technological processes; 7. Practical work on the diagnosis and evaluation of the state of radio engineering, electronic and telecommunication systems using the necessary methods and means of control; 8. Participation in the development of mathematical and physical models of radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications systems; 9. Application of methods of mathematical processing of results for practical work. |

During the educational process, students have the opportunity to study for a semester or year at another higher educational institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan or abroad with the obligatory transfer of completed educational programs in the form of loans at their university. Remote technologies are used in the educational process for students with distance learning, who have left the country for an internship or study at a university in another country. |
