  1. Carry out a search for environmental information using critical thinking and apply the results obtained, both to standard and non-standard situations.
  2. Analyze and edit texts on environmental issues and documents of environmental organizations to present them to a mass audience.
  3. To have practical skills and creativity in creating eco-Internet programs, eco-media works of various formats.
  4. Use fact-checking as an essential media tool.
  5. Apply the basic principles of media when creating materials about environmental problems of varying degrees of complexity.
  6. Properly organize information ecotexts with the opportunity for alternative discourses and obtaining a wide public response.
  7. Work with various media channels for the dissemination of environmental information.
  8. Use knowledge of the legal aspects of eco-journalism when creating media products.
  9. Use the ethics of journalism when collecting and writing materials on environmental issues.
  10. Understand the approaches and mechanisms required to address environmental problems occurring in the context of the local, regional, national and global levels.
  11. Develop their sensitivity regarding how various parties manipulate, intervene and distort ecological issues/crisis at various levels.
  12. Participate in the implementation of editorial environmental projects, applying the skills of environmental communication and management; carry out a comprehensive analysis of environmental narrative

Training of students is carried out in the framework of the scientific schools of the founders of digital media, analytical journalism in Kazakhstan: M. K. Barmankulov, N. Omasheva, Z. G. Ibraeva, S. H. Barlybaeva, Sultanbaeva and scientific schools in the field of artificial Intelligence and big data Telemtayeva M. M., T. N. Biyarova , N. T. Danayevа, U. A. Tukeeva.

The scientific potential of the department is represented by highly qualified specialists: professors, associate professors, invited foreign professors, employees of the media field, mathematical cybernetics and information systems, which allows for the training of undergraduates.
