Preparation of competitive high-level specialists capable of independent research and professional activities in the field of sociology; having in-depth knowledge of theoretical and applied nature, providing them with the opportunity to choose the methodology of promising sociological research; able to create a new conceptual knowledge, developing science; to give a scientific substantiation of socially significant problems and tasks, reasonably present and discuss the results obtained in the scientific community, including at the international level.

- Interpret the main ideas of modern sociological paradigms, trends and directions of development of world and national sociological science, build on their own conceptual basis;
- Apply modern methods of sociological research, monitoring and diagnostics, modeling of social, economic, political, cultural phenomena, processes, relations;
- Identify and analyze the features, mechanisms and main trends in the development of modern society, global and regional socio-economic and political, cultural and political processes;
- Possess practical skills in independent quantitative and qualitative research, qualified explanation, analysis and forecasting of modern social processes within one of the branches of sociology;
- Carry out diagnostics of political, cultural, economic risks of development and actual problems of modern society in the context of globalization and a single information space;
- Assess the modern processes of social modernization and transformation of institutions, the development of social groups and structures, regional and urban development;
- Use modern information technologies and special computer programs for receiving, processing, systematizing, analyzing and storing scientific information and the results of independent scientific research, their presentation in the form of reports and presentations;
- Independently develop the design of your own sociological research - posing research questions, organizing the research stages, determining the strategy and methods of scientific research, designing data analysis methods;
- Present with arguments own vision of a scientific problem and scientific results at the national or international level in the form of scientific projects, reports, articles, dissertations, and demonstrate the culture of scientific writing, competent presentation of scientific publications, reports and other materials;
