Purpose

The purpose of the program is to provide high-quality training for highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers who are capable of: planning and conducting perspective fundamental research in the field of methodology and theory of translation at a conceptual level; independently making original decisions on significant problems of modern translation studies; carrying out an objective translation expertise; developing effective translation training techniques; strategically managing the company; steadily increasing their innovation and technological potential and intellectual and professional level; competing successfully in the current labour market.

Educational outcomes

- To conduct a critical analysis of modern theoretical paradigms and concepts in translation studies for a systematic understanding of the patterns of development of the science of translation and forecasting promising areas of research; to theoretically substantiate the main provisions of linguistic and literary theories of translation to determine approaches to translation problems and develop strategies and positions for the analysis of source and target texts.

- To apply the methodology of academic writing for the preparation of scientific publications; to substantiate your ideas through a well-prepared academic scientific text. To carry out a linguistic analysis of the text on the basis of the linguistic theory of translation to identify the functional and structural features of the source and target languages.

- To conduct classes using innovative teaching technologies to optimize the educational process and improve translation practice based on the integration of linguistic and interlanguage disciplines. To apply the methods and techniques of translation psychology to activate the individual abilities of the translator, his conscious setting, the mechanisms of probabilistic forecasting, memory, attention and perception.

- To integrate knowledge in the theory and practice of translation with the didactics of higher education in the planning and organization of classes at the university; to apply information and communication technologies for the implementation of various types of translation; to develop unique teaching methods for teaching interpretation, simultaneous interpreting and written translation within two pairs of languages; to instill in students moral and ethical values.

- To apply scientific methods for planning and organizing research on interpretation, interpretation and translation. To conduct a literary analysis of literary translated text to identify figurative correspondences with the original text; to analyze the linguistic and literary aspects of translation based on the dominants of the aesthetic function of translation and the linguistic theory of equivalence.

- To develop scientific translation assessment criteria for compliance with theoretical standards of equivalence and adequacy; to apply the methodological principles of scientific criticism of translation for the examination with the preservation of norms and requirements for the quality of translation. To apply the basics of the anthropological paradigm to analyze the development trends of world and domestic translation studies and identify its specifics in the context of various translation concepts.

- To develop a strategy for managing the translation process and its participants in the field of interpretation, simultaneous interpreting and written translation to monitor all stages of the translation. To submit scientific articles on translation issues in accordance with international rhetorical and publication conventions; to engage in oral and written debate to defend new ideas in the global scientific community. To apply an intercultural approach to translation based on cultural and sociological concepts for a scientific and critical analysis of intercultural and interlanguage communication and forecasting promising studies in translation studies.

- To apply editorial analysis and evaluation criteria to edit the finished translated text of various genres, taking into account the speech norms of the translating language.

- To use the literary theory of translation when analyzing the text of a literary work in its translated version to determine the level of professional skill of the translator and the full adequacy of the translation.

- To generate new ideas in the management of innovative, pedagogical and scientific processes for the implementation of multilingualism programs and increase the level of comprehensibility of translation information in the educational environment; to integrate the achievements of computer technologies and translation theories for the practice of machine translation using CAT programs, online dictionaries, etc.

- To analyze the psychological mechanisms of the process of interpretation, simultaneous interpreting and written translation to establish and improve the semantic, visual and auditory perception of the translator.

- To provide an independent expert evaluation of translation work based on assessment criteria and translation standards to improve the quality of translation. To carry out an analysis taking into account the paralinguistic, cognitive and linguistic aspects in the psychology of translation to measure the dynamics of the intellectual and creative potential of the translator.

- To develop an organizational structure for research on various types of translation to coordinate the scientific and labour activities of the team; to develop translation strategies for the analysis of source and target texts in various types of translation to predict and implement fundamental ideas in the science of translation and successful competition in the labour market.

- To prepare scientific articles for publication in international journals, present their main content to the audience for discussion with opponents and supporters.

Academic activities

Academic activities of the EP are carried out:

-within the framework of existing normative documents and methodological recommendations in the sphere of higher education in the humanities,

- as a result of the implementation of normative documents regulating the educational and methodological process in the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative and legal acts related to methodical work;

- the current and perspective planning of the University educational-methodicalwork, thecoordinationoftheeducational-methodical complex of discipline (EMCD) of the department for the conformity to the normative-legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- Monitoring of the provision of the educational process with the didactic-methodic materials, documenting of the results;

- development of educational-methodical materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum;

-academic policy and integrity rules of the university.

The staff of the department for the qualified specialists training on the educational program: 7 Doctors of Philology, 2 PhD doctors, 9 PhD of Philology, 9 Masters, 7 Senior teachers, 6 Teachers.

Scientific activities

In order to develop students at the department, there are clubs and circles. Club "Kokzhiek", "Turzhiman", "English drama", "Latin language club", "German language club", Laboratory "Sociolinguistics, theory and practice of translation".

University lecturer or Professor. Level 8 (sublevels 8.1; 8.2)

transmits educational information, teaches them to independently acquire knowledge; introduces students to the system of social values; provides methodological support of the educational process; studies the level of learning of educational content by students, explores the educational environment; interacts with the professional community and with all interested parties in education.

Translation Researcher: performs theoretical and applied research in translation studies to improve translation techniques and technologies; builds cause-and-effect relationships in order to predict the result of translational research; applies professional and research skills in non-standard situations based on original thinking.

Translation expert: conducts a critical analysis of the final product of translation activity and makes an objective expert opinion on the level of translation quality ;.

The head of the company: coordinates the work of the company; establishes internal and external contacts with representatives of enterprises, institutions, organizations; speaks at conferences, congresses and other international meetings with innovative ideas.
