The goal

The program is aimed at forming the personality of a specialist with critical thinking, capable of conducting research in the field of modern Russian linguistics and literary criticism, to collect, process, analyze and synthesize scientific information, to conduct independent research based on adequate research material, choose a methodology with a projection on the development of new promising areas of philological science, to present and defend their own scientific opinion

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this educational program, doctoral students are expected to be able to do so:

LO1 Carry out research and development in the field of Russian philology, based on traditional and new scientific concepts, taking into account the polyparadigmality of modern linguistics and literary criticism. Demonstrate fundamental, systemic knowledge in the field of Russian linguistics and literary criticism (theoretical and methodological principles, conceptual and terminological apparatus of linguistics / literary criticism, actual philological trends, modern approaches, trends and trends) in the modern scientific paradigms of knowledge.

LO2 Critically assess the results of scientific research in new areas. Describe the content of modern theories, problems and approaches, new trends in the study of the Russian language and literature in the context of philological and humanitarian knowledge. Summarize the results of knowledge and use them as a means to gain new knowledge.

LO3 Generate new and complex goals, propose new hypotheses and solutions to scientific problems in the field of Russian linguistics and literary criticism on the basis of an independent original approach, on the basis of research design.

LO4 Collect, process, analyze and summarize philological and scientific-technical information, advanced domestic and foreign experience, results of experiments and observations. Systematize and interpret scientific theories and concepts of the newest trends in modern linguistics / literary criticism in order to further apply this knowledge in the selection of the initial theoretical positions of the dissertation research.

LO5 Synthesize and transform philological and interdisciplinary knowledge in the process of solving research problems.

LO6 To independently plan and implement a complex process of scientific research in the field of Russian philology within the framework of modern scientific paradigms and research technologies, providing an original result. Evaluate the validity of the methods used in scientific research of the Russian language and literature.

LO7 Formulate the goals and objectives of scientific research and find solutions to them. Choose adequate methodological approaches to research in the field of Russian philology, carry out their critical analysis.

LO8 Carry out scientific experiments and analyse their results correctly. To solve non-standard research problems of various levels of complexity at the professional level using conceptual and methodological apparatus of philology and related humanities, to draw reasonable conclusions in the absence of complete data.

LO9 Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge into the research process in order to solve scientific problems. To plan and methodically provide for all forms of training in philological cycle disciplines in educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

LO10 Create a scientific work (scientific report, essay, scientific article, philological commentary, doctoral dissertation, educational research and scientific project, etc.) in the field of Russian philology using modern computer technologies, resources of the National Corps of Russian language, lexicographic sources and evaluate it, determine the importance of the product of its scientific activity. Participate in the development of research and development plans and programs, and practical recommendations on the implementation of their results. Draw up reports (sections of the report) on the topic or section of the thesis or research project.

LO11 Present the results of educational, research and project activities in the form of scientific reports, abstracts, abstracts of articles, philological comments, doctoral theses, training and research and scientific projects, etc., both to specialists and to audiences without appropriate professional training. Carry out scientific publications within the framework of international databases ThomsPO-Reuters and Scopus, scientific journals recommended by CLCO.

LO12 Select priorities for educational and research activities, balancing their own scientific interests with the public interest, ethical values, production needs and the needs of society. To be ready for correct, tolerant and productive interaction in the society, for social interaction and cooperation in order to solve topical issues of Russian philology.

Academic activities

Academic activities of the EP are carried out:

- within the framework of existing normative documents and methodological recommendations in the sphere of higher education in the humanities,

- as a result of the implementation of normative documents regulating the educational and methodological process in the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative and legal acts related to methodical work;

- The current and perspective planning of the University educational-methodical work, the coordination of the educational-methodical complex of discipline (EMCD) of the department for the conformity to the normative-legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- Monitoring of the provision of the educational process with the didactic-methodic materials, documenting of the results;

- development of educational-methodical materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum;

-academic policy and university integrity rules.

To prepare qualified specialists in Russian language and literature 11 doctors of sciences and 30 candidates of sciences are working.

Scientific activities

For the development of students in the department there are clubs and clubs. Club "Akkaiyn" and Ethnoclub "Russian world". Since 2008, there are 5 joint double degree programs (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD) in the department: "Russian philology", "Russian language and literature". Training is carried out jointly with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia).

Scientific schools, scientific directions, scientific projects of the Department: dissertation research of doctoral students is carried out under the guidance of leading scientists of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages as part of the implementation of joint international research projects on grants from international organizations, as part of the implementation of state programs of fundamental and applied scientific research funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in particular: "Cognitive image of the world: national codes in the Kazakh language", "Theoretical concepts and modern technologies of literary text analysis: world and Kazakhstan context". Doctoral students can publish their research results in scientific journals recommended by the KKSON of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in highly rated journals included in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science, Thomson Reuters.

The department has four Internet portals: "Atlantis", "Bachelor", "Ruslit.kz", "Methodist". 

International activities

The educational program provides for the possibility of studying during the academic year under the academic mobility program at the P. Lumumba RUDN (Moscow, RSFSR). Within the framework of the OP, a scientific internship is provided (after the first year of study) under the guidance of foreign scientific supervisors at the expense of budgetary funds.

Bases of practices: M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Arts (RK); A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics (RK); higher educational institutions of RK; research institutes and centers at the Faculty of Philology and World Languages of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: multidisciplinary innovation center "Gloss", research center "Computational Linguistics", research and educational center "Triad".

The training of personnel in the field of professional activity includes the following types of activities, professions, qualification levels:

- research activity (senior researcher at the Research Institute);

- experimental developments in the field of social sciences and humanities (researcher);

- other types of education not included in other categories (teacher of Russian language and literature);

- auxiliary educational services (specialist in the field of general secondary, secondary specialized, higher education, consultant on educational services).
