purpose

The purpose of the educational program is to train specialists of a wide profile, able to implement various tasks of intercultural interaction using foreign languages in modern professional discourse and information space, owning a complex of system and professional competencies based on in-depth knowledge of linguistics, theory and practice of translation and intercultural communication.

Educational outcomes

To identify and critically analyze problems of intercultural communication, conduct expertise, research on the theory and practice of translation.

To participate in discussions and procedures for the protection of scientific papers at various levels; make presentations and reports on the subject of research, organize information and search activities in order to improve professional skills in the field of translation and intercultural communication.

To develop methodological, control and measurement instructions, developments, and various types of software products taking into account the specifics of translation and cross-cultural communication, stylistic and language norms in the process of translation and cross-cultural communication.

To implement written and oral communication in a foreign language(s) in the process of intercultural interaction in academic and professional spheres based on modern communication technologies. To use communication strategies, rhetorical techniques of effective oral and written communication, stylistic and language norms in the process of communication.

To organize competitions, olympiads and other creative events related to the use of a foreign language in the socio-cultural, cultural and academic spheres of communication, taking into account translation practice.

To keep records in foreign languages studied in various institutions and organizations, drafting and editing various types of business documents: official correspondence, information and reference documents, administrative and organizational documents.

To organize and hold business meetings, seminars, presentations, round tables, incentive / motivational trips, registration of delegates on the website of the organizing Committee of the Congress, Symposium, conference, corporate events, team-building events, etc.

To apply proofreading rules and standard proofreading marks, normative documents, editing and preparing the manuscript for printing. To edit  the material after editing. To check the correspondence of the typed text with the original or previous proofreading, taking into account edits.

To make scenarios, various kinds of speech in their native and foreign languages, form the compositional structure of the script, taking into account the genre identity, expressing their opinions.

To review the texts of scientific research of domestic and foreign specialists in various fields of professional activity; knowledge of the basics of bibliographic culture, techniques for compiling and processing scientific documentation (reports, reviews, abstracts, abstracts, reports, articles, bibliographies and references).

To design   the translation text in various computer programs. The ability to translate and translate texts of General cultural and professional content in accordance with the norms of lexical equivalence, grammatical, syntactic and stylistic norms, and the main ways to achieve equivalence in translation.

To manifest personal qualities and abilities, professional interaction with colleagues and management, analytical thinking, creative orientation, independent search, reading, constant improvement of professional level, knowledge, skills, culture.
