At the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an international conference on the topic of of modern physics "Abdildin Readings" was held, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of one of the outstanding physicists of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Abdildin Meyrhan Mubarakovich.
On April 6-8, 2023, International scientific onference of students and young scientists "FARABI ALEMI" was held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The conference was held in several sections. At the conference, students and young scientists gave a talk on the results of their research and diploma works. The best talks were awarded with diplomas.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University among the universities participating in the IAAR rating took 1st place in the group of doctoral educational programs "D090-Physics".
As a result, the Republican Commission decided to award the prize to 50 scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development of domestic science. In the field of natural sciences, the corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Abishev Medeu Yerzhanovich became the owner of the annual award "Best Research Fellow" in 2022.
On December 5, 2022, Anton Vadimovich Chechkin, a researcher at the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, St. Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics (Gatchina, Russian Federation), will give a lecture on the topic "Neutron physics. From the microworld to cosmology."

On November 23, 2022, on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Kyrgyzbai Baktybaev, who worked as a professor of the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of al-Farabi KazNU, a round table was held on the topic "Prospects of the development of nuclear science in Kazakhstan". The event was attended by the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.A. Kozhamkulov, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology N.A. Beisen, heads of departments, faculty staff, students and family members of K. Baktybayev, as well as students of the faculty. During the round table, the life and work paths of Kyrgyzbai Baktybaev were discussed. One of the students dedicated a poem in the honor of Baktybaev K., inspired by the personality of a man who steadfastly survived the difficulties of the times of famine, repression and war and reached the heights of nuclear science and education.
