In 2018, KazNU named after Al-Farabi became the first national university to launch a postdoctoral program at its own expense. In 2020, 35 postdoctoral students work at the university in priority scientific areas: IT and artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, plasma physics, astrophysics, mathematics, ecology, biotechnology, water resources, cognitive neuroscience, political science and others.
The postdoctoral program has proven its effectiveness - during the period of implementation of the program, postdoctoral students have published scientific articles in high-ranking international peer-reviewed journals, under the guidance of postdocs, scientific groups of young scientists, doctoral students and undergraduates are formed.
