On October 31, 2021 the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU and the club of young translators “TARZHIMAN club” held an evening
dedicated to the International Day of the Translator “Translator is an honorable profession” within the framework of the 30th anniversary of independence.
The chairman of the club Akniet Kurmanbekkyzy made a presentation about the club. The hosts were second-year students Omirbek Kuantai and Basymbek Zhanerke.
Club members congratulated the first year students. At this event, students read their translations in English and Russian.
The event was attended by Tusupova Gulshat Bakytzhanovna, candidate of philological sciences, translator, graduate of KazNU, doctoral student at the University of Aberdeen
in the UK. She answered students’ questions about the profession of translation. Also present were teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies.
The scientific director of the club, associate professor Musaly Leila Zhumataykyzy wished future translators success.
