On December 8, 2020, the Department of Russian Philology of KazNU named after al-Farabi jointly with the Institute of Literature and Art named after Auezov held round table on the topic: "Model of a competitive personality of a specialist in modern conditions."
Recently, researchers of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature: Acting professors Mizanbekov S.K., associate professor Galai K.N., senior teachers: Shanaev R.U., Ismailova Sh.A., Kulbaeva A.Zh., have received a letter of thanks from the Faculty of Philology of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia for organizing a virtual school: "Literature and media space". Topical issues of modern literature transformation and its values in the era of digitalization and information space and the prospects for its further development in the context of mediation were discussed in real time.
The system of advanced training for teachers, like no other sphere of public life, needs advanced development. This is due to the huge flow of professionally relevant information and the rapid reduction of the "knowledge life cycle". In this respect, the system of advanced training should respond promptly to all socio-economic and scientific and technical changes and be constantly focused on the future. In this regard, the work of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Additional Education of the al-Farabi University is conducted in full accordance with today’s requirements.
On November 29, 2020, there was the solemn event: “President who loves his country” which took place at the Friendship House. The event was devoted to the Day of the First President.
On November 23, 2020 doctor of philology, professor A.Zh. Zhaksylykov delivered the lecture for the teaching staff of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the project: “Professor hour”. The lecture topic was "Prose development in Kazakhstan literature” over the past twenty - thirty years.
At the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages, the ethnoclub "Russian World" continues its educational work. Club members - foreign students, in particular the students from Turkmenistan – not only attend classes, but also practice their language skills in the club, mastering the entertaining grammar of the Russian language, getting acquainted with the history of the country of the language being studied and Russian culture.
For several years at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, students from Turkmenistan continue to study Russian at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages. Foreign students develop their communication skills not only in the classroom, but also at meetings in the "Russian World" ethnoclub, where they acquire the skills of conducting discussions in Russian and show creative activity. The club aims to help foreign students improve their language skills and adapt to the new social and cultural environment.
Students from Turkmenistan have been studying at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University at various faculties for the second year. They acquire knowledge not only in their specialty, but also study the Russian language at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology. Acquaintance with the language of Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky is not limited only to academic studies. Foreign students practice their language skills at meetings in the "Russian World" ethnoclub, the purpose of which is to develop communication skills, to form the skills of conducting discussions in Russian; stimulating the creative activity of foreign students studying Russian as a foreign language; social and cultural adaptation of foreign students. Students from Turkmenistan enjoy learning not only Russian, but also Russian culture.
On October 9, 2020, as part of the All-Russian Festival of Science, RUDN University hosted events in which students of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages of the Kazakh National University in Almaty took part. The event was held jointly with the Faculty of Philology of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow.
