on the organization and conduct of the Republican subject Olympiad
among students of higher educational institutions of theRepublic of Kazakhstan
at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University on hygiene and epidemiology
I. General provisions
1.1 Тhis Regulation defines the procedure of organization and holding of the Republican student subject Olympiad for hygiene and epidemiology for students of the 4th course of the specialty "Public health" medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its organizational, methodological support, a fine participate in the contest and determine winners.
1.2. The main goals and objectives of the Olympiad:
- · identification and support of the most qualified and talented students;
- · increasing students ' interest in gaining knowledge and participating in scientific activities;
- · educational activities, promotion of scientific knowledge;
- · development of cooperation in the academic and professional environmen
1.3. The Olympiad is held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health-the Higher School of Public Health. The organizer is the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine.
1.4. The Olympiad is held in the main disciplines of the specialty: municipal hygiene, hygiene of children and adolescents, occupational hygiene, food hygiene, epidemiology.
II. The procedure for organizing and conducting the Republican Student Subject Olympiad in Hygiene and Epidemiology
2.1. The Republican Student Subject Olympiad in Hygiene and Epidemiology is held annually (once a year). General methodological, organizational and informational support is provided by the organizing committee (hereinafter referred to as the organizing committee) for conducting the Republican Student Subject Olympiad, the composition of which is determined and approved by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
2.2 The Republican Student Subject Olympiad in Hygiene and Epidemiology is held in 2 stages:
- Stage I-intra-university;
- Stage II - in basic universities.
Working languages of the Olympiad: Kazakh, Russian.
2.4. Faculty of medicine and health KazNU al-Farabi is organized and conducted the University stage of the competition AFS hygiene and epidemiology that is included in the list of national Olympic MES.
Stage 1-online testing (intra-university).
Date: 26.02.2021, time from 9.00 to 19.00 h. Each participant will have access to the tasks within 60 minutes from the moment they log in to the testing system. Each participant will be offered an option of 50 test tasks in the disciplines of the Olympiad. The correct answer to the question is estimated at 2 points. Each participant is tested only once.
2.5.Undergraduate students of the 4th year of the specialty "Public Health" of al-Farabi Kazakh National University can take part in the first stage of the REPUBLICAN STUDENT SUBJECT OLYMPIAD.
2.6. The Dean of the faculty forms the composition of the competition commission of the intra-university competition of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad. 2.7. The minutes on the results of the meeting of the competition committee of the intramural stage of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad are submitted to the Department for Science and Innovation of al-Farabi KazNU no later than five working days after the end of the intramural stage of the Olympiad of al-Farabi KazNU.
2.8. According to the results of the I stage of the Olympiad (intra-university), the students of al-Farabi KazNU who took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are sent to the basic universities to participate in the II stage of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad.

2.9. Тhe Competition Commission of hygiene and epidemiology of the II stage of the competition Republican Student Subject Olympiad: the President is the acting head of the Department of OZ with a course of hygiene and epidemiology of Customability, PhD, associate Professor L. J. Orakbay, members: head of the Department of epidemiology, biostatistics and evidence-based medicine C.b.n. Mamyrbekova S. A., senior lecturer, PhD Аrynova G. A., associate Professor, Ph. D. Organizing Committee:
- · considers the proposals of the department on the terms and procedure of the Olympiad;
- · defines the list and content of profile tasks;
- · determines the format of the Olympiad rounds;
- · determines the time limit for completing Olympiad tasks and the threshold values for passing to the next round;
- · approves the criteria for determining the winners of the Olympiads;
- · approves the results of the Olympiad;
2.10. The composition of the Competition Commissions for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the II stage of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad competition in Al-Farabi KazNU is approved by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of KazNU.
2.11. Competition Commission for hygiene and Epidemiology of the II stage of the competition of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the al-Farabi Kazakh National University:
* checks the Olympiad papers;
• ranks job on the results;
* makes a decision on awarding the participants of the Olympiad;
* submit the results report within 3 days after the Olympiad.
III. The order of awarding the winners of the Republican Olympiad
3.1.The competition commission of the basic university recommends that the winners be awarded in the following order:
- for the 1st place-a diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first degree (no more than one student);
- for the 2nd place-diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the II degree (no more than two students);
- for the 3rd place-diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the III degree (no more than three students).
3.2. The winners of the Republican Olympiad, who took 1, 2, 3 places, are awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan I, II, III degrees.
3.3. The next Republican Olympiad in the specialty is held on the basis of the university, the student of which took the first place in the corresponding specialty.

Regulation on the organization and conduction of Kazakhstan Olympiad in the field of hygiene and epidemiology. Topic: State sanitary and epidemiological surveillance in the new trends of Public Health
I. General terms
1.1 This Regulation determine the organization and conduction of the Kazakhstan Olympiad in the field of hygiene and epidemiology on the topic "State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance in the New trends of Public Health" for 4th year students of the specialty "Public Health" of medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its organizational, methodological support, the procedure for participation in olympiad and determination of the winners.
1.2. The main goal and main objectives of the Olympiad:
- identification and support of the most gifted and talented students;
- ncreasing the students’ interest in obtaining knowledge and participating in scientific activities;
- educational activities, promotion of scientific knowledge;
- development of cooperation in the academic and professional environment.
1.3. The Olympiad will be held in Al Farabi Kazakh National Universiy, the Faculty of Medicine and Health - Higher School of Public Health, department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine.
1.4. Major Olympiad Exam conducting bodies are as follows: communal hygiene, hygiene of children and adolescents, occupational hygiene, food hygiene, epidemiology. The tasks of the Olympiad are complex and include 3 rounds.
1.5. Olympiad tasks are created on the basis of standard training programs for the specialty “Public Health” (earlier “Preventive Medicine”) of medical universities and faculties of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. Organization of methodological support of of Science Olympiad
2.1. The Olympiad is conducted by Organizing Committee of the Olympiad and a jury.
2.2. Organizational and methodological support of the Olympics is carried out by the Organizing Committee. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is the Head of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine, Ph.D. Mamyrbekova S.A., coordinators - acting Associate Professor, Ph.D. Arynova G.A., acting Associate Professor, Ph.D. Romanova Zh.V., Associate Professor, Ph.D. Dushpanova A.T., Adilova M.T.
Duties and responsibilities of the Organizing Committee:
- to consider the proposals of the department on the timing and procedure for the Olympiad;
- to determine the list and content of specialized tasks;
- to determines the format of the Olympiad;
- to determine the time limit for completing the olympiad tasks and threshold values for passing to the next round;
- the jury forms;
- to approve the criteria for determining the winners, prize-winners of the olympiads;
- to approve the results of the Olympiad;
- to solve current issues related to the Olympiad.
2.3. The jury will be approved by the dean of the Faculty.
2.4. Jury:
- checks olympiad works;
- ranks work by results;
- makes a decision on rewarding the participants of the Olympiad;
- presents a protocol of results within 5 days after the Olympiad.
3. The organization and conduction of the Olympiad
3.1. Students of the graduating course of the specialty "Public Health" of medical universities and faculties of the Republic of Kazakhstan will participate in the Olympiad on a voluntary basis.
3.2. To participate in the Olympiad will be admitted students with registration as participants on the site
3.3. The Olympiad will be run in three rounds:
1 round – online-testing.https://online-test.kaznu.kz/

Access to the test will be open from 9.00 to 19.00. Access to tasks for each participant will be open within 60 minutes from the moment of his entry into the testing system. Each participant will be offered an option of 50 test items in the disciplines of the Olympiad. The correct answer to the question is estimated at 2 points. Each participant will be tested only once.
The minimum score for passing to the 2nd round is 80 (out of the maximum 100).
2 Round - business cases (online).
The date: 17.03.2020 г., time:9.00 до 19.00.
Participants who scored 80 or more points in the 1st round will receive individual tasks to the e-mail which will be specified during registration. Each participant will be offered an option of 5 case assignments in the disciplines of the Olympiad. The participant copies the tasks to a separate file and there, on each case, gives a decision with justification. The file with the completed task must be sent to the e-mail of the department ephykaf@gmail.com. Files with responses that will be sent later than 19:00 on 17/03/2020 would not be considered. A correctly completed task is estimated at 20 points.
The minimum score for passing on the 3rd round is 80 (out of the maximum 100).
Participants who completed the 2nd round are invited to the 3rd round which will be held at Al-Farabi Kazakh national University (Almaty).
3-тур – report on the topic of independently completed scientific work at the VII international scientific conference of students and young scientists «Farabi Alemi».
The date: 08.04.2020.,tim: 9.00-11.00.
Participants who completed the 2nd round will send articles of appropriate scientific work in the field of epidemiology and hygiene to the ephykaf@gmail.com department e-mail.
Acceptance of work – till 27th of 2020.
The selection of speakers for the conference will be determined by the decision of the jury after the examination of the submitted works for the relevance of the content and correct design ("Rules for the design of scientific publications" are previously posted on the website of the Olympiad).
The decision of the jury will be communicated to the participants no later than March 30, 2020.
4. Promotion of winners and active participants in the Olympics.
4.1.Participants of the 3rd round will receive places in the hostel (free of charge), a certificate of participation in the Olympiad, also certificate of participation in the scientific conference of students and young scientists “Farabi Alemi.
4.2. Articles (abstracts) of the 3rd round participants will be published in the materials of the VII international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" (free of charge).
4.3. Winners of the Olympiad will be awarded with Diplomas of I, II, III degree and valuable and memorable gifts.
15.04.2020
On April 07, 2020, the third round was held (remotely) and the results of the Kazakhstan Hygiene and Epidemiology Olympiad were summed up. There were 5 students participated in the third round.
The jury carefully examined the submitted research works. Evaluated the performance of research work:
1. Turlykozha Tokzhan, 4th-year student, Public Health specialty, al-Farabi KazNU. Topic: Raising awareness of parents about the prevention of pediculosis. Scientific advisor: Daniyarova A. B., acting associate professor of the department of epidemiology, biostatistics and evidence-based medicine.
2. Alshynov Bekbauly, 4th-year student, Public Health specialty,S.Asfendiyarov KazNMU. Topic: Assessment of physical development of schoolchildren in Almaty. Scientific advisor: Tekmanova A.K., Associate Professor of the department of nutrition with a course of preventive medicine.
3. Kalimuldinova Aidana, 4th-year student, Public Health specialty, al-Farabi KazNU. Topic: Study of vaccination activities in preschool institutions. Scientific advisor: Daniyarova A. B., acting associate professor of the department of epidemiology, biostatistics and evidence-based medicine.
4. Bildeshbay Aruzhan, 4th-year student, Public Health specialty, al-Farabi KazNU. Topic: Incidence of acute intestinal infections in children of the Dzhambul region in 2016-2018. Scientific advisor: Zholdasbekova A. S., senior lecturer of the department of epidemiology, biostatistics and evidence-based medicine.
5. Zholdasbek Nurkhanym, 4th-year student, Public Health specialty,S.Asfendiyarov KazNMU. Topic: Assessment of working conditions of railway workers. Scientific advisor: Seiduanova L.B., senior lecturer of the department of nutrition with a course of preventive medicine.
Turlykozha Togzhan took 1st place in the 3rd round.
