On December 7th, 2021, the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) held a webinar for Japanese higher educational institutions to introduce the Study in Japan Global Network Project of MEXT. As the University of Tsukuba and Hokkaido University are coordinators of the "Study in Japan Global Network Project in Russia and CIS countries", Dr. NINOMIYA Takashi, University of Tsukuba Almaty Office coordinator and professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, presented about the "Educational context in Kazakhstan." He explained the situation of primary and secondary education in that country and the study abroad situation, the relationship between the Almaty office of University of Tsukuba and Japanese universities, and the features of organizations for Japanese language education in Kazakhstan, such as that of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Some of the questions asked by participants are the following: "What is the percentage of enrollment in higher education institutions and the percentage of wealthy people in Kazakhstan?" and "What kind of approach is effective when promoting universities in the Russia and CIS countries?"
