VІІІ INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATION

On February 11-13, 2021, the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will organize the VIII International Winter School of Journalism and Communication in the online format "Accessible Radio to every citizen and to all people: fighting the COVID-19 pandemic", dedicated to the World Radio Day and the 100th anniversary of "Qazaq Radiosy".

Since 2014, the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with the support of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty, has been holding the International Winter School of Journalism and Communication, which has become traditional and is dedicated to the World Radio Day.

The Winter School is a media dialogue platform between young students and practicing journalists.

This year the Treasury supports the theme of UNESCO: "A new world. New radio. Evolution, Innovation, Convergence".

On the occasion of World Radio Day 2021 (WDR-2021), UNESCO invites radio stations to celebrate the tenth celebration of this international day, as well as more than a century of radio history.

This year's celebration will focus on three sub-themes:

 

CELEBRATIONS IN 2021

On the occasion of World Radio Day 2021 (WRD 2021), UNESCO calls on radio stations to celebrate this event’s 10th anniversary and the more than 110 years of radio. 

This edition of WRD is divided into three main sub-themes:

EVOLUTION(link is external). The world changes, radio evovles. 
This sub-theme refers to the resilience of the radio, to its sustainability ;

INNOVATION(link is external). The world changes, radio adapts and innovate. 
Radio has had to adapt to new technologies to remain the go-to medium of mobility, accessible everywhere and to everyone;

CONNECTION(link is external). The world changes, radio connects.
This sub-theme highlights radio’s services to our society—natural disasters, socio-economic crises, epidemics, etc.
