Scientific seminar dedicated to the Day of Cosmonautics

April 12, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the International Scientific Seminar "Space Technologies for Sustainable Development" dedicated to World Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics with the support of the UN Information Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Sustainable Development Ban Ki-moon.

The following topics were discussed at the seminar:

- Biotechnology in the field of space research;

- Solar energy and space technologies;

- Space civilization and technology of the future;

- Space debris problems and sustainable development.

Representatives of the United Nations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the media, professors and scientists of universities, students of the specialty "Space technology and technology" of the Department of Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty and the specialty "Journalism" of the Faculty of Journalism took part in the seminar.

Lecturers of the department Candidate of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Associate Professor Rakisheva ZB, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Associate Professor Grishchenko V.F. and student Pilpani Roland made presentations.

The seminar was organized under the leadership of:

 Director of the Ban Ki-Moon Institute for Sustainable Development, Rafis Abazov;

Head of the Department of Press and Electronic Media, Faculty of Journalism, KazNU. Al-Farabi, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Gulmira Sultanbaeva;

Head of the Department of Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi, Ph.D., associate professor Zaure Rakisheva.

At the end of the seminar the participants were awarded with personalized Diplomas and Certificates.
