KAZAKHSTAN ESPORTS STUDENT LEAGUE FIRST COMPETITION

We are delighted to bring good news to all students of eSports fans! For the first time in Kazakhstan, there is created a cybersports student league! The «Halyk» Charity Fund, the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and N. Nazarbayev’s Education Fund with the support of the Qazaq Cybersport Federation, has launched the National Esports Student Association, a national project on student e-Sports. 

The Kazakhstan Esports Student League has been established to promote eSports in the country among the younger generation. This is a significant step in the development of cybersports in Kazakhstan, now the best higher education institutions of the country for the first time will take part in the tournament on cybersports disciplines.

The Student League on Cybersports will be held on a permanent basis and consists of four seasons, in each of which the game disciplines will change. The first season of the Student League will be held from 10 October to 12 November 2020 in the disciplines – PUBG Mobile, CS:GO, and Starcraft II. Registration for tournaments opens on 2 October 2020. The prize fund is 1 million tenge!

The first season will bring together teams of seven Universities: Al-Farabi KazNU, UIB, Astana IT University, KBTU, AUES, IITU, and Satbayev University, which will be formed based on the results of internal competitions. From the second season of the tournament, all other Universities will be able to join the National Esports Student Association.

The Kazakhstan Esports Student League will give a systemic boost to the development of the cybersports community in the country and will certainly open up many young talents. The project initiative of the «Halyk» Charity Fund and the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, which unites the largest and most prestigious HEIs of the country, aims to promote Olympic values amongst students and creates conditions for the popularization of modern sports culture.

Participation in Qazaq Cybersport Federation recognized by the National Olympic Committee and accredited by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the RK, will open the way for student teams to the world of big eSports and ensure a high level of tournament organization. Supporting the rapidly growing popularity of the youth platform, the partners of Kazakhstan Esports Student League expect an increased interest of the student audience in the Olympic movement, as well as active involvement in sports events of the younger generation.
