Alumni Day of KazNU Al-Farabi, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the birth of Abu Nasr al-Farabi at the Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, was held online May 30, 2020. Graduates of the department met in a new format in different years - and those who studied in the last century and current graduates. This is a jubilee year for 1980 graduates - 40 years of graduation from the walls of Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, that was the name of our university in those years. More than 20 graduates of the current joint department participated in the work, previously they were the Department of Human and Animal Physiology and the Department of Biophysics. The meeting was attended by graduates of the current 2020 - bachelors, masters and doctoral students.

The meeting began with a speech and greetings from the dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor B.K. Zayadan, who noted the contribution of our faculty and our department to the training of highly qualified biologists for our Republic. He noted the connection of generations and the development of mentoring, the constant contact of graduates with their department.

Tuleukhanov In his greeting, he spoke about the development and achievement of the department, about the results of the work of the teaching staff. Only in the 2019-2020 academic year, the department transferred 1 million tenge to the university endowment fund, organized material support for the educational process in the amount of more than 13 million tenge by purchasing equipment and reagents, scholarships were allocated to support students for 11 million tenge, including number from employers. So a graduate of the department. Laboratory at the Research Institute of Human and Animal Physiology, Ph.D. Abdreshov allocated 500 thousand tenge for a scholarship.

A graduate of the Department of Biophysics in 1980, and now a professor at the APSU named after Abay, Ph.D., participated in the work. Babashev A.M. He recalled his years of study and his teachers, in particular Professor V.M. Inyushin, who continues to work now. For many years he headed the Department of Biophysics, which he created in 1973, and is also a graduate of our faculty only in 1963.
