On April 20, 2023, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the closing ceremony of the republican Olympic subject competition among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the specialty "6B05102 – Biology". 33 students from 6 cities of the country, 9 universities took part in the subject Olympiad in the specialty "6B05102 – Biology". 

At the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, according to the results of the Republican Subject Olympiad among students of the specialty "6B05102 - Biology", the participant - 4th year student of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology Turekhanova Khanzada Galymzhanovna was awarded a diploma of the II degree Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University .

On April 19, the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience organized and held a career guidance event for schoolchildren of grades 9, 10, 11 studying at school. At the event, the teachers of the department M.A.Bessonova and A.N. Eshmukhanbet showed presentation material, where they introduced the students to the teaching staff, scientific activities of the department. The Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience is one of the leaders in training specialists in the field of neuroscience and biomedicine, biology, biophysics.Further, the teaching staff of the department made brief reports, where they gave more detailed information about the scope of their scientific interest, research directions and achievements.The meeting continued in the format of Questions and answers, during which the students were able to get answers to all their questions.

XV International Scientific and Practical conference in memory of Academician Yu.I. Borodin "Lymphology: from fundamental research to medical technologies". On March 24-25, 2023 in Novosibirsk (Russia) at the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology – a branch of the Federal Research Center of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS, the XV Scientific and Practical conference was held. On April 6, 2023, the International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology.In total, 259 applications were received in section No. 2 "Modern problems of biophysics, physiology, biological education, biomedicine and neuroscience", of which 162 abstracts were accepted and included in the collection of the conference, including: 1 abstract from the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science "Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences", St. Petersburg, Russian Federation; 1 thesis from the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science "Institute of Immunology and Physiology" of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation; 1 thesis from the National University named after Mirzo Ulugbek, Tashkent, Uzbekistan; 1 thesis from the Chirchik State Pedagogical University, Chirchik, Uzbekistan; 5 theses from the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, Almaty, Kazakhstan; 2 theses from the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpaev, Almaty, Kazakhstan; 1 thesis from Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt ata, Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan; 1 thesis from Astana International University, Astana, Kazakhstan; 148 abstracts from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Ydyrys Alibek - lecturer of our Department, Acting Associate Professor, PhD one year under the Bolashak program (Centre for International Programs - Bolashaq) at George Washington University, Elliott School of International George Washington University Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, CAP improved his education. "The number of scientific publications in Kazakhstan and the quality analysis project" was successful. From the USA, he successfully defended the project "analysis of the quantity and quality of scientific publications of Kazakhstan", for this year 9 articles were published in the Web of science and Scopus database, 4 articles were published in journals from the list of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Informs that 3 scientific projects have been submitted for the competition, one of which has been approved for funding. He concluded his words: " I am grateful to our country, which has provided such opportunities."
