April 15, 2019 at the meeting of the Rector's office was awarded the winners of the annual contest "Best Yurt", which was organized by the Union of employees of the University "Parasat". The faculty of biology and biotechnology won the THIRD prize in the competition "Best Yurt – 2019". This year the staff of the Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine were responsible for the celebration of Nauryz on behalf of the faculty. The winners received three vouchers to SHС KazNU on lake Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyzstan). When awarding prizes in the competition, the Commission takes into account the following criteria, such as: the appearance of the Yurt, interior decoration, national color, dastarkhan, hospitality of the hosts, etc.

April 13, 2019 a traditional spring holiday "Nauryz holiday" was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University on.

The purpose of the event is the popularization of national holidays of the Kazakh people and Central Asia among employees, students and guests of the University.

As part of the Nauryz festival, the traditional awarding of the winners of the contest "Clean campus", which was organized by the Union of employees of the University "Parasat". The faculty of biology and biotechnology took the 2^nd place in the purity contest among 16 faculties.

On April 12, 2019, following the results of the forum "al-Farabi and Modernity", held within the framework of the VI International Farabi readings, the winners of the contest "The Best Young Scientist" were determined at the closing ceremony. According to the results of the competition lecturer of the Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, master of pedagogical sciences Kairat Bakytzhan Kairatuly was awarded the diploma "The Best Young Scientist of al-Farabi KazNU".

At the session 2 of the section " Modern problems of Biophysics, physiology and Biomedicine "of the international conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi", 16 reports were heard, including 13 reports from the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Commission decided to award:

On April 9-10, 2019 in the framework of the International conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" lectures of foreign professors of leading foreign universities were attended. Among them, Professor of the State higher school of agronomy and food industry ENSAIA, University of Lorraine (University of Lorraine, France) Cyril Fay made a presentation on the topic: "Chlordecone a paragon of old chlorinated pesticides fate from the environment to the Food chain – Human health implications ".

Professor of Karadeniz Technical University Demirbag Zinni from Turkey gave a lecture on "Enhanced insecticidal activity of Chilo iridescent virus expressing an insect specific neurotoxin". And doctor of medical Sciences, academician of NAS RK Muminova Talgat Ashirovich made a report on the topic: "al-Farabi, Abai, Shakespeare and modern medicine".

On April 9, 2019, the opening ceremony of the VI International conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi"was held at the large Assembly hall of the faculty of biology and biotechnology of al-Farabi Kazakh national University.

The purpose of the conference is to stimulate research and educational activities of students; disclosure of creative abilities, selection and support of the most talented and gifted students; promote the formation of intellectual potential of students; attracting students and young scientists to solve scientific problems of our time.
