Special lecture by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan as a part of the Korean Studies Week

The lecture of the Consul General was attended by approximately 50 people, including the head of the department of the Far East, Yem N.B., professor Myon D.V., visiting professors Lee Byong Jo, Jang Wonki, Yoon Hyunsuk and other teachers of the department. In his lecture, the Consul General spoke about the high potential of cooperation between the two countries on the basis of cultural and historical similarities, about the prospects and possible risks for the further development of international relations against the background of the unification of the two states of the Korean Peninsula. Mr Kim Heung Soo also wished students to be the future bridge of friendship between countries. After the lecture, the Consul General awarded prizes to students, who asked various political questions on the content of his lecture in Korean, which shows a high level of their preparation and speaks of the relevance of studying the Korean language among young people.

In addition, the week of Korean studies, which was held from February 17 to 21, was full of various events, among which the main place was taken by the Olympiad on knowledge of the Korean language and Korean culture, which was organized with the sponsorship of the Center for Korean Literature in Seoul, also as part of Korean Day History contest was "I and Korea" with a musical performance of students of the department, a meeting with employers, at which the director of JSC "Shinhan Bank" N.M. Dzhaksykeldinova gave a special lecture on the topic "What you need to be before graduating". One of the most striking events was the day of Korean cuisine, where all interested students participated in a master class from teachers Kim Yang Mi, Lee Jung Hye, Choi Ji Young and themselves prepared various national Korean dishes.

At all times, the highest demands were placed on the activities of the teacher. Therefore, it is safe to say that the teachers of the Department of the Far East honour their noble mission, are always at the centre of the public life of the faculty, stimulating various activities of the educational process of students who are set to be creative in mastering the profession.
