From October 31 to November 2, 2023, the 8th seminar of the Association of Korean Language Schools of Russia was held in Moscow. Professor of Department of the Far East of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Lee Byong Jo took part in the seminar as a special lecturer and gave two special lectures on the history of Korea.

On the occasion of the 75th birthday of Yerengayip Omarov (Vice President of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan), the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Development of Kazakhstan Science in the Field of Civilization" was held at the Kazakhstan National Library. Dr. Takashi Ninomiya (Invited Professor and Associate Professor, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) participated in the conference.
Master student of the 2nd year of the Department of the Far East of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Kozhakhmetova Zhaniya, under the guidance of professors Lee Byong Jo and Myong Soon Ok presented her project on the topic “Perspectives of exchanges and cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea through medical tourism” and won the 2nd prize.
On October 24, 2023, at a ceremony organized on the occasion of Republic Day in the Al-Farabi Library of the Kazakh National University, special awards were presented to teachers of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Takashi Ninomiya, an associate professor and invited professor at the Department of Far Eastern Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, went to Pavlodar City on October 06, 2023 to participate in the regional seminar "Youth of Kazakhstan: state language policy and society."

On October 16, 2023, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations of Inha University, Professor Song Dong Gi visited the Department of Far East, Faculty of Oriental Studies and met with the Dean of the Faculty N.B. I also eat the head of the department A.B. Abagan.
