On April 13, 2013, the Olympiad in the Presidential Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an Olympiad in the field of "Archival Studies and Document Management". In addition to the students of the University, the students of the multi-profile college of Almaty city and the service college took part in the Olympiad and showed good results.
On April 9-11, 2018 the International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "FARABI ӘLEMI" was held, during which the section "History of East and West in Antiquity and the Middle Ages" worked
Within the framework of the V International Farabi readings, the task was set to hold a round table with Prof. Victor F. Zaibert, doctor of history, researcher of Botay culture. In this regard, on April 10 of this year, a round table was held on the problems of studying and museification of monuments belonging to Botay culture at the Scientific Research Institute of "Archaeology and Steppe Civilizations", Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where Victor F. Zaibert was appointed as director. During his speech, he expressed the main problems in research, as well as aspects of the museification of monuments of Botay culture.

On April 9, 2018 teachers, advisors of the Department of world history, historiography and source studies held a round table within the framework of the spring student scientific week. The organizers of the round table – Docent, B. E.Nurpeisova, senior lecturer A.T. Suinova, lecturer Zh. K. Dyusembekova. The round table was devoted to the theme “Choice of my profession”, which was attended by graduates of the specialty «Archival studies, Documentation and Documentation Provision», as well as students studying in this specialty. The round table was held in the form of discussion, deliberation of actual issues in archival studies and documentary studies.
At the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology was the annual international scientific and practical conference of young scientists "Mir Farabi." At the conference, in addition to students of our university and other higher educational institutions of the country and abroad, our future university entrants-students of the colleges of Almaty participated.
The Republican subject Olympiad, traditionally held in the city of Karaganda, specializing in "Pedagogical History", has come to an end. The third prize was taken by our students who defended the honor of our faculty under the leadership of Almas Toksanbaev. Students are participants: Kusherbayeva Zhadyr, Abdigalymov Amir, Beketai Nauryzbai Serialili, Baybukasheva Aidana.
April 5-7 was the 19th international exhibition "Education and Career" for schoolchildren and students of Kazakhstan and abroad.
At the al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies organized a meeting with archivists of the Russian Federation
Since 30.03.18-06.04.18 by the invitation of Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Bexseitov Director of the international research laboratory "Geoarcheology" Al Farabi Kazakh National University, was visited on a scientific mission scientists from Japan, PhD doctor of the scientific research institute of cultural values of the city of Nara, Mr. Sadakatsu Kunitake and professor of Tokyo University Sato Hiroyuki. The purpose of the visit was devoted to communication, exchange of scientific interests, a meeting with prominent scientists, experts in archaeologists in the Stone Age.
