At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Alumni Day has been celebrated since 2011, and it has become a tradition for many graduates of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. This year, celebrations in honor of the Alumni Day of the Kazakh National University and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics are dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi. and will be held May 30 in online format. However, despite the various problems that arose with the covid-19 pandemic that swept the whole world, graduates of different years of the department did not forget about this significant day - Alumni Day, and send their congratulations and wishes to their native Alma mater:

Koyshybayeva Zoya Kashkinbaevna:

“I am a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology, KazNU named after Al-Farabi 2003. During the years of study at the first university of Kazakhstan, I received deep knowledge, in order to realize and improve them, I started working in the field of education. Thanks to my tireless work, I have achieved the best results such as the titles "Best Teacher of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "Excellence in Education". Currently, I work as the director of one of the best educational institutions in Almaty, school-gymnasium No. 44. I believe that the main reason for such productive work is the great work of the teachers who taught us. In this regard, I would like to thank the head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Zhunusbayeva Zhazira Kabulovna and all the teachers. I especially want to mention my supervisor, doctor of biological sciences, academician, expert in his field, Bisenbaev Amangeldy Kuanbaevich, who taught me perseverance, endurance and continuous self-education. Thanks to the skills I have learned from you, I actively engage in research activities with my students and still maintain a close relationship with the university where I studied. I want to express my gratitude for the work invested in us, for the path that you have shown us and invaluable advice. Dear Colleagues! Ryspekova Ayman Bokenovna:

 "Good afternoon! Teachers and graduates of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University! I sincerely congratulate you on Alumni Day. I wish you good health and success in your work. I am a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, 2005. As a result of my of deep education at the university, I was accepted to graduate school at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Biotechnology and defended my dissertation under the supervision of Academician Palymbetova Fatima Abylkairovna and professor of the Department of Genetics Aytasheva Zaure Gainetdinovna and completed an internship in the field of molecular genetics in the USA under the Bolashak program. Professor of the Department of Agriculture and Plant Growing at the Agronomy Department of the Kazakh Agro-Technical University named after S. Seifullin in Nursultan. In addition, I conduct research with research projects as part of the grant financing program. For all these achievements, I want to “I would like to thank the university professors, including the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, who selflessly trained us and made a significant contribution to our formation as qualified specialists”.

 

 

Otarbayev Marat Kaldybaevich:

 “Dear graduates! I congratulate you on our common holiday with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University graduates Day!

I am also a graduate of our university’s faculty of biology and biotechnology, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources. Today, I am the director of the first in vitro fertilization center "Ecomed", which was founded by one of our graduates Baykoshkarova Saltanat Berdenovna.

With great gratitude and with a smile, we recall the times when we were still students of our university. We are very grateful to all the teachers who have put intolerable, huge work in us, so that we become highly qualified specialists.  “I am PhD Doctor of Biological Sciences and a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Currently working as an embryologist-geneticist in vitro fertilization laboratory. I heartily congratulate the faculty of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics on Alumni Day and express my gratitude, especially to Shulembayev Kulziya Konuspaevna and Aytashev Zaura Gainetdinovna ".

 Rakhmetova Nurzhamal Ғalymzhanқyzy:

“I am PhD Doctor of Biological Sciences and a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Currently working as an embryologist in vitro fertilization laboratory. Aibeck Mursalimov:

 “I’m a bachelor-graduate of 2012 and a graduate of the 2014 graduate student of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Department of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In honor of this significant day, I congratulate with all my heart all the graduates of different years. I would also like to thank all the teachers, the department, and the molecular genetics laboratory where I studied, especially my supervisors Amangeldy Kuanbaevich and Nazgul Abdullaevna. Within the walls of the Kazakh National University, I got the opportunity to improve my knowledge of the academic mobility program at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany. After graduation, I conducted research in the field of genome stability and DNA repair at Nazarbayev University and in collaboration with the Gustav Rossi Clinic in France. I am currently pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Arizona, USA, in order to continue my studies. I hope that we will be able to contribute to the development of the future of Kazakhstan, strengthening the knowledge that we received from KazNU and here”.

 

 

Askarbayeva Balzhan:

“I am a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2003. Thanks to the knowledge that I received within the walls of my native university to further conquer new heights, I continue to study in the 3rd year of doctoral studies at the University of Southern Bohemia in the Czech Republic. I take this opportunity to thank the department, the university, which was a beacon, a mentor in achieving such heights of my life. I also want to express my immense gratitude to the entire teaching staff of the department, my supervisors, candidate of biological sciences Zhunusbayeva Zhazira Kabulovna and professor Omirbekova Nargul Zhapparovna. In conclusion, I want to congratulate all graduates on Alumni Day, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi. I wish you good health and every success in your worthy service to the prosperity and growth of our independent country”.

 

Kuanbay Aigerim:

 “I am a 3rd year doctoral student at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Department of Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. In 2018, I became the owner of the Abai Vern grant. According to which, I study at the University of Paris-Saclay on a double agreement between Kazakhstan and France. I do my scientific work at the Gustav Rossi Institute in the laboratory of genomic integration and carcinogenesis in the DNA repair group on the problem of genomic stability and DNA repair of plants and animals under the guidance of Dr. Murat Saparbayev. Kazakh National University gave me the opportunity to realize myself in science. I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, especially to my supervisor Professor and Academician Binesbayev Amangeldy Kuanbaevich. I congratulate all the graduates of our Alma Mater on the day of graduates".

Umit Aliaskarova:

“I am a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, KazNU named after Al Farabi 2017. Kazakh National University annually celebrates Alumni Day on May 28. In this regard, I would like to thank all the university professors and teachers of the department, especially my supervisors Bisenbayev Amangeldy Kuanbaevich and Sabira Myktybekovna. Studying within the walls of the Kazakh National University, combining studies with teaching biology in English at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School and conducting scientific research of her dissertation work in the department’s laboratory, she gained great theoretical and practical experience. I also attended the summer school of gene therapy at the University of Utrecht in Utrecht of the Netherlands, and thanks to the support of the teachers in my department, I finished the second year of my graduate studies at the University of Paris-Saclay. This was carried out as part of the Abay-Vern scholarship program. During this time, I went through a 6-month internship at the Gustav Rossi Cancer Institute, where I won a grant from the French government. Currently, I have signed a three-year doctoral education contract and am conducting research in the field of oncology at the medical faculty of the University of Paris-Sud. I'm currently doing DNA repair".

 

Temirkhan Ayupov:

 “I am a graduate of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. In 2018, I graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. At the moment I am conducting my master's research at the University of Oxford. I would like to thank the entire teaching staff, as well as my supervisor Bisenbayev Amangeldy Kuanbaevich for the provided knowledge and experience that helped me open the way to the big scientific world”.
