On April 15^th, 2021 at 11.00 in the auditorium named after E. Shaimerdenov (214) of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the 180^th anniversary of photography in Kazakhstan, an international scientific and practical online conference "NATIONAL PHOTO ART: HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT" was held, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the teacher, photojournalist Asylkhan Abdraimuly. As part of the conference, a book dedicated to the work of Asylkhan Abdraimuly was presented and a photo exhibition was solemnly opened.

Candidate of philological sciences Amankos Mektep-tegi and writer, essayist Maksat Tazh-Murat made an introductory speech and a report on the art of photography.

Also, within the framework of the conference, the dean of the Faculty of Journalism Sagatbek Medeubekuly presented Asylkhan Abdraimuly with the Certificate of Honor and the Medal "For Outstanding Service" from the Chairman of the Office of the Kazakh National University-Rector Zh.Tuimebayev.

Also, Honored Activist of Kazakhstan, First Vice-President of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan Musapir Zhanuzak presented Asylkhan Abdraimuly with a certificate of a corresponding member and a badge of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The conference was attended by: professor of Mimar Sinan University (Turkey) Ozan Bilgeseren, from the People's Republic of China, chairman of the Altai Ethno-Photography Society, photographer-ethnographer Serik Mukyshuly, ethnographer photographer from Bayan-Olgiy (Mongolia) Zhanarbek Akbi, lecturer at the Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, professional photographer Rustam Talabbaev, Honored Activist of Culture of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, photographer-artist Erkin Bolzhurov and other specialist photographers who study the field of photography and publish scientific works.

The conference was supplemented with reports of: Orazaly Karimbayev, Executive Director of National Geographic Qazaqstan, Serikbol KHASAN (“Later Found Photos of Alikhan Bokeikhanov”), Editor-in-Chief of “Munara” newspaper, Enlik Tolykbaeva, Director of children's and youth center of tourism and ecology "Atameken" (West Kazakhstan, Uralsk), master of historical sciences Aibolat Kurymbaev ("Photos of Zhangir khan with schoolchildren and other historical photographs of the region") and other specialists.

The conference was closed by the veteran photojournalist Nurmanbet Kizatuly, who reviewed the history of photography, noted the books and the huge contribution of Asylkhan Abdraimuly to the development of Kazakh photography.

At the end of the conference, the students of Asylkhan Abdraimuly shared their memories of the photojournalism course and congratulated their teacher.
