XI Forum of Young Correspondents

At the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the XI Republican Forum of Young Correspondents completed its work, at which the winners of the School Essay Competition “Do you want to become a journalist?” were awarded. The competition was organized by the journalism faculty of the al-Farabi KazNU and the republican newspaper “Druzhnye rebiata (Friendly guys)”. 

The essay contest “Do you want to become a journalist?” received more than a hundred works from different parts of Kazakhstan: Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Aktobe, Kostanay, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan. For the eleventh year, the faculty of journalism brings together the most talented children who associate their future with the profession of a journalist. Students in more than thirty schools in the country wrote, composed. 

The Forum summed up the results of the School essay contest “Do you want to become a journalist?”, in which five free topics were announced. “How to become an interesting interlocutor?”, “Favorite corner of the school”, “The best profession”, “The role of social networks for a modern person?”, “If Pushkin would publish a newspaper today... By the 220th anniversary of his birth”. 

Most of today's teenagers are interested in everything related to social networks. And they do not mind writing instructions, answering the question "How to become an interesting conversationalist?".The faculty of journalism of al-Farabi KazNU and the republican newspaper “Friendly guys” awarded 26 winners. 

The chairman of the jury - A. Akbarov, the editor-in-chief of the Republican newspaper “Friendly guys”, noted the imagery, the ability of the authors to reason, to give personal examples. Also at the Forum, guests listened to master classes from leading journalists in the country. Media characters, graduates of the KazNU journalism department of different years - Dana Ormanbayeva, Olga Pastukhova, Dana Atshabarova, Malik Dauylbay - each talked about their path to the profession. 

There was held quizzes and interesting contests, the guests wrote a report from the Forum. They gave away sweet prizes. And they also sang, watched videos made by first-year students of the journalism department, appreciated a scene about young journalists from students-actors of the "Eidos Theater". 

Thanks to the permanent sponsors of the Forum. Teachers were also awarded by diplomas KazNU and gifts from the Caspibank. Pupils received Journalism diplomas and books from the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan.
