The Chair of UNESCO, International Journalism and Media in Society received a new logo, approved by UNESCO Headquarters in Paris

UNESCO headquarters in Paris sent the official logo to the department of UNESCO, international journalism and media in the society of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.

  The Ministry of Culture and Sports, the chairman of the National Commission A. Raimkulova praised the work of the UNESCO Chair at the Faculty of Journalism of KazNU named after al-Farabi at a meeting of the National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO on January 31, 2020 in Nursultan. Shortly afterwards, on March 18, the UNESCO Secretariat announced that an agreement on the status of the UNESCO Chair, International Journalism and Social Media of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, which has been operating since 1996, was extended until May 5, 2022. We consider this good news as a great achievement not only for the UNESCO Chair, but also for the Faculty of Journalism and the National University.

Due to the high level of managerial skills of the head of the UNESCO Chair, international journalism and social media, Professor N.T. Shyngysovy, pedagogical and scientific activities of the members of the department, the department received a new logo, approved by UNESCO headquarters in Paris. “We are pleased to send the official logos of the Department of Journalism and Communications of UNESCO KazNU. al-Farabi. We thank you for your cooperation in the program of the UNITWIN / UNESCO departments and the new logo is the result of the hard work of the department’s employees, ”the letter says.

In a letter to the rector of the Kazakh National University Al-Farabi            G. Mutanov, Head of the Department of Higher Education of UNESCO,            Mr. P. Wells, said: “In light of the good results achieved by the above-mentioned department, confirmed by a positive assessment of its activities, I am confident that the UNESCO Chair will continue to work closely with the UNESCO Secretariat in journalism to promote the policies, tools and priorities of the UNESCO International Program for the Development of Communication (IPDC), as well as to promote the 2030 Agenda. ”

This achievement of the UNESCO Chair, International Journalism and Social Media, the Faculty of Journalism shows that it is actively working at the international level and fulfilling its commitments in the field of sustainable development.
