On Wednesday, June 10 2015 at the Faculty of Philology and World Languages, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held the opening ceremony of the Centre "Russian language and culture." The center was opened on the initiative of the Russian Fund "Russian world".

The objectives of the center is to promote the Russian language, which is a national treasure of Russia and an important element of Russian and world culture, and develop Russian language in Kazakhstan.

The center provides access to cultural, historical and literary heritage of the Russian world. The task of the center - the strengthening of friendship between the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan.
