The Institute of Physics and Technology (IPT) is a research organization established on December 27, 1990, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic No. 535 “On foundation of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR”. In 1988 by the suggestion of the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Full Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR U.M. Sultangazin, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR B.N. Mukashev was entrusted with the organization of the Institute of Physics and Technology (IPT).
