The department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, Labor Law combines the best traditions of the oldest departments of the University, which played an important role in the formation of legal education in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since the foundation in 1981 the department was headed by outstanding scientist in the field of labor law in the Central Asia and Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law, Professor Abzhanov Koben Abrzhanovich, who wrote more than 70 scientific works, including the monography “Employment contract according to the Soviet law". From 1981 to 1986 the Department was headed by Doctor of Law, Professor Shaibekov Kemalkhan Asambekovich. During 1986 to 1992 the Department was headed by Associate Professor Murzin Nazar Gazizovich. From 1992 to 2004 – Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Abaideldinov Tleukhabyl Musinovich, including the period when on the decision of the Academic Council of the University of September 26, 1995 on the basis of Department of Labor Law and Civil Procedure was created Department of Civil and Labor Law, which as a result of reorganization on March 24, 1998 was again transformed into Department of Labor Law and Civil Procedure.
