We invite you to the XVI International Conference of GIS in Central Asia - GISCA 2022, which will be held May 23-27, 2022 online.

The GISCA conference has been held annually since 2005, and this year will be held in a regionally distributed format in several cities of Central Asia (Bishkek, Almaty, Tashkent and Dushanbe). The organizers of the GISCA conference are the Austrian-Central Asian Center ACA*GIScience, headed by coordinator Professor Josef Strobl - Director of the International Center for GIS and Geoinformatics of the University of Salzburg, with the support of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Eurasian-Pacific University Network (Eurasia-Pacific Uninet).

The main objectives of the conference are to unite scientists, educators and GIS specialists from the countries of Central Asia and Europe, to support and encourage international cooperation, as well as to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of GIS education.

Within the GISCA 2022 conference, the experience and results of scientific research on the use of geoinformation technologies for regional research, conducted under the guidance of leading specialists of universities and scientific organizations of Central Asia, will be presented.

Accepted and peer-reviewed articles will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the International Journal of Geoinformatics and other Scopus-indexed journals.

The working language of the conference is English.

The session in Almaty is scheduled for May 26, 2022, 14.00-16.00 in offline/online format in auditorium 409 of the library of Al-Farabi KazNU.
