MASS MEDIA OF RUSSIA AND FOREIGN COUNTRIES: GLOBAL AND NATIONAL

The International Research and Practice Conference «Mass Media of Russia and Foreign Countries: Global and National» will be held on 15 April 2020 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Conference will be the first joint scientific and practical event of three Universities - the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, engaged in research on the functioning of the global and national media space.

The Conference involves an up-to-date dialogue between leading Russian and foreign scholars, practicing journalists, graduate students and undergraduates on topical issues of the development of the modern media space of Russia and foreign countries.

The international scientific and practical conference will bring together well-known Russian journalists, representatives of foreign media, domestic and foreign scientists and researchers of mass media processes.

The following thematic issues are proposed for discussion at the conference:

  • The problems of the interaction of journalism and power in the modern communication space of Russia and the world.
  • The concept of identity in the media discourse of Russia and foreign countries.
  • The formation of a multimedia journalist in the University environment: domestic and international experience.
  • Features of modern blogging in the Russian and foreign media markets.
  • Actual media processes: global and national.
  • Modern Russian-language journalism in the near and far abroad.
  • Linguistic and genre-stylistic features of the media text in national media systems.
  • Geopolitical challenges of our time: the reaction of the QMS of Russia and the world.
  • Features of lighting by the world QMS Victory in the Second World War (to the 75th anniversary).
  • Media transformation in the context of digitalization.
  • Significant personalities in Russian and foreign journalism.
  • Tolerance of Russian and foreign media: pros and cons.
  • World media development trends: segmentation and fragmentation.

The draft conference program will be posted on the information page of the Department of Theory and History of Journalism of the Philological Faculty of the RUDN University http://esystem.rudn.ru/faculty/ff/departments and will be sent additionally to the conference participants by the e-mail specified in the application form.

Russian and foreign scientists, teachers, practitioners, doctoral students, graduate students, students of all courses are invited to participate in the conference.
