First announcement of a one-week Summer School “Introduction to High Energy Physics and Accelerator Physics” to be held at Almaty (Kazakhstan) and jointly organized by ISTC, CERN and JINR with a support of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Institute of Nuclear Physics of Ministry of Energy
ISTC-CERN-JINR Summer School on High Energy Physics and Accelerator Physics 2019 will be held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty (Kazakhstan) in August 25-31, 2019. It is intended for undergraduates, PhD students and postgraduate from CIS countries and Georgia majoring in High Energy Physics and Accelerator Physics. The School will include five days of lectures, hands-on activities, a visit to the INP experimental facilities, poster and oral presentations of the School participants, and video-conferences with CERN. The School will cover the following topics:
- High Energy Physics
- Accelerator Physics
- Quark-gluon plasma
- Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics
- Condensed Matter Physics
- Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics
- Computing and Big Data
- Perspectives of LHC
The working language of the School is English.
Expected number of the School participants is about 60.
The lectures will be given by scientists from CERN, JINR, and other renowned scientific centers.
