OIC Initiative will be Discussed in Almaty

On April 22 the International Seminar on «Islamic Rapprochement Initiative: Prospects of Peace and Conflict Resolution in OIC Member States» will be held in Almaty, which is organized by the General Secretariat of the OIC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Al-Farabi KazNU.

The diplomats from the OIC member States, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps of foreign countries in Kazakhstan and prominent scientists as well as the experts will attend this event. The meeting will serve as a dialogue platform to discuss topical issues of the joint Kazakh-Turkish initiative of Islamic rapprochement for the peaceful settlement of disputes between the OIC member States, and unresolved conflicts on the territory of Islamic States. Exchange of best practices in the field of security, human rights and the rule of law will also be held during this Seminar.

The participants of the meeting will have the opportunity to be introduced to the policy and role of the OIC in conflict resolution and mediation, to highlight the history and nature of conflicts in Islamic countries, which for decades remain unresolved and have an impact on the peace and security of many member States of this international organization. In addition, the participants will discuss practical measures for rapprochement and conflict resolution through confidence building, identification and elimination of the root causes of conflicts

Following the priority directions in ensuring the national security of the country, as well as leading the Global Hub of the UN Academic Impact Program Al-Farabi KazNU has been actively implementing the sustainable development goals, one of which is the promotion of a peaceful and open society. KazNU also participates in the initiatives and programs of international organizations, whose activities are aimed at ensuring security in the global world and sustainable development of humanity.
