On April 26, 2021, the Republican Subject Olympiad in the specialty "5B021200-Oriental Studies"was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The Olympiad was held in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic.
39 students participated in the Olympiad, including 17 students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, 14 students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, and 8 students of the Department of Oriental Studies of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
The Сhairman of the Сommission was a well-known Arabist, Ph.D., Аssociate professor of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture "Nur-Mubarak" Mukhitdinov R.S. The members of the commission were foreign sponsors, invited native – speaking professors and leading teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The Olympiad was sponsored by the UAE Red Crescent Society, the Education Center of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, the Association of South Korean Entrepreneurs in Almaty, the Korean Company Kim Chi kz, the Academy of Korean Studies of the Republic of Korea, the University of Tsukuba, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty.
The Olympiad was held in 2 rounds. The form of the task was an Essay in the language of the studied country for the 1st round. On the 2nd round, students made a presentation on the topic "Kazakhstan and the country under study: past and present".
At the closing of the Olympiad, the winners were announced. The winners became Kudaibergen Sara, 3rd year student of al-Farabi Kazakh National University (1st place), Sovetova Moldir, 3rd year student of al-Farabi Kazakh National University (2nd place), Parzhan Simbat, 3rd year student of Kazumoimya. Abylai khan (2nd place), Alen Baiserkenov, 4th year student of Kazumoimya im. Abylay Khan (3rd place), Zhumagalieva Zhanerke, 3rd year student of L. N. Gumilyov ENU (3rd place), Diltan Merey, 4th year student of al-Farabi Kazakh National University (3rd place) in Chinese language.

By Japanese language, the winners became Sushy Aruzhan, a 3rd-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (1st place), Berekeev Kaisar, a 3rd-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (2nd place), Rustem Yanshelo, a 3rd-year student of Kazumoimya. Abylai khan (2nd place), Vladislav Pishchalin, 3rd year student of Kazumoimya im. Abylai Khan (3rd place).
By Korean language, places were taken by Kaliyeva Gulden, a 3rd-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (1st place), Otegen Gauhar, a 4th-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (2nd place), Keunimzhayeva Zhansaya, a 2nd-year student of Abylaykhan Kazumoimya (2nd place), Bakumbaykyzy Aruzhan, a 4th-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (3rd place), Cheleuken Aida, a 2nd-year student of Kazumoimya im. Abylay khan (3rd place), Barlykbaeva Madina, 3rd year student of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU.

By Arabic language, the winners became Aida Esenbekova, a 3rd-year student of Al-Farabi KazNU (1st place), Sayat Izbasarov, a 4th-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (2nd place), Alisha Absadykova, a 3rd-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (2nd place), Shaeke Albina, a 3rd-year student of al-Farabi KazNU (3rd place), Alima Baltabekova, a 3rd-year student of L. N. Gumilyov ENU (3rd place).

       The winners of the Olympiad received diplomas from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, monetary remuneration from sponsors and grants for master's degree programs in universities of the People's Republic of China from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty.
