Leadership lecture by the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty, Mrs. Gen Lipin, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies on the topic: “Prospects for Sino-Kazakh Relations”

The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, Gen Liping, came to the treasury in Almaty and held a leadership lecture “Perspectives of Kazakh-Chinese Relations” at the Faculty of Oriental Studies for teachers and students of the Department of Chinese Studies. The lecture was attended by Consul General Geng Liping, Vice Consul Miao Hongbo, Head of the Consulate News Department Huang Tian and several Attaches, heads of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and students. The lecture highlighted the past, present and future of relations between China and Kazakhstan, as well as historical, political, economic and cultural ties.

Ms. Geng Liping in her speech emphasized that the friendship of the First President of Kazakhstan, the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of China Xi Jinping, made a huge contribution to strengthening ties between the two states. “The leaders of the two countries not only develop official ties, but also become good friends. Thanks to the direct care and special attention of the heads of the two states, as well as the joint efforts of both sides, in recent years the cooperation between China and Kazakhstan has achieved fruitful results in various fields and is of real benefit both countries, "said Gen Lipin. In addition, she noted that the current president of Kazakhstan, Kassym Zhomart Tokayev, is a Sinologist, which opens the way to a deep understanding of the partnership between the two countries. .

At the lecture, it was noted that bilateral economic cooperation is an important material foundation for the strategic partnership of China and Kazakhstan, today China is the second worldwide, first trading partner in the CIS countries, the volume of bilateral trade exceeds 80 percent of total trade between China and Central Of Asia.

Ms. Geng Liping expressed confidence that China supports the vigorous activity of Kazakhstan aimed at developing transit potential through the use of its unique geographical advantages, which will significantly increase the overall level of the Kazakhstani economy and strengthen its position in international competition and in the implementation of the Western China International Transport Corridor project -Western Europe ”and the project for the construction of high-speed railways.

 

Gen Lipin also noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, humanitarian cooperation has been actively developing. The two governments have signed a number of agreements on cooperation in education, culture and other fields. Thanks to the effective work of the regular meetings mechanism, friendly relations are dynamically developing between the regions and peoples of the two countries. In the field of education, there is a multipolar informational and independent exchange of experience, including in the language sphere. Today, about fifteen thousand Kazakhstani students are studying in China, and 1,400 Chinese students are studying in Kazakhstan.

During the lecture, Gen Liping answered questions and the participants exchanged views. Teachers and students received comprehensive answers to their questions, including such as increasing the number of educational grants to China, holding fairs, and supporting innovative projects. The Consul General noted that these proposals would be comprehensively considered in the future.

At the end of the lecture, the Consul General presented to the Department of Sinology several works on the history and literature of China. In turn, the leaders of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the staff of the Department of Sinology thanked Gen Lipin and the guests.
