SAKHA SCIENTISTS AT THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES

Sakha scientists visited the faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi and met with the teaching staff of the Department of Turksoy.

 

The delegation of honorary guests was headed by academician of the Academy of Sciences of RS Sleptsov Petr Alekseevich. The head of the project "Big explanatory dictionary of the Yakut language" Monastyrev Vladimir Dmitrievich, said that the main purpose of the visit of the delegation from Sakha is to get acquainted with Kazakh scientists. In addition, a 15-volume "Explanatory dictionary" of about 10 thousand pages, which contains about 80 thousand words and phraseological units of the Sakha language and their interpretation in the Sakha-Russian languages, was presented for review in the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Authors of dictionaries Ph. D., researchers: Nadezhda Matveevna Vasilyeva, Nadezhda Nikolaevna, Olga Nikonorovna Ammosova and other junior researchers and undergraduates noted that they worked on each volume for 15 years. Also in their speech, they noted that students and undergraduates of the Department of TURKSOY will be able to freely use the dictionary donated to the library.

In his speech, the chief editor of the "Big explanatory dictionary of the Sakha language", Ph.D. Nelunov Anatoly Gavrilovich noted that the main aim of the visit was the promotion of values, history and culture of the Turkic peoples, as well as exchange of experience.

       The scientist of Sakha, academician Sleptsov Petr Alekseevich, as the author of the "Big explanatory dictionary of the Yakut language", noted that the dictionary is a unique publication created by the latest methods of the explanatory dictionary in the Turkic languages, and also shared his experience with the teaching staff of the Department.

       At the end of the meeting, the Dean of the faculty Yktiyar Paltore thanked the scientists from RS for time they dedicated in order to visit the faculty, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties in the scientific and educational sphere and expressing interest in strengthening the partnership.
