On the last Saturday of May in the al-Farabi KazNU was a traditional Alumni Day. On this day contemporaries of different generations first met at the Triumphal Arch students and graduates of “Mangilik el”, erected on September 1, 2016.

Graduates and patrons who came to the event got acquainted with the new projects of students and teachers, visited the Center for Green Technologies. Before the solemn event, flowers were laid at the monument to the great thinker of the East Abu Nasyr al-Farabi and the monument to academician U.A. Zholdasbekov, erected by the Alumni Association.

By tradition, in the Palace of Students named after W.A. Dzholdasbekov held a gala concert where graduates heard a report from the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Alumni Association of the KazNU, Doctor of Laws, Professor, graduated Law faculty in 1981 Kairat Mami, appointed scholarships to the best students, handed valuable gifts to the departments, watched a film about the achievements of Alma Mater and a gala concert prepared by university students. Sincerely welcoming all the participants within the walls of Alma Mater, the rector of KazNU, academician Galym Mutanov noted that the University Graduates Day is being celebrated for the seventh year in a row. This tradition has become a symbol of the continuity of generations, their unity and the continuation of the best traditions of student fraternity.

For graduates of all generations solemn meetings were held in their home faculties. This year, the Faculty of Oriental Studies is 30 years old and the very first graduates of our faculty also attended this event. The faculty event was visited by the first dean and founder of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - Absattar Bagisbaevich Derbisali. The memorable performances were graduates of anniversaries who graduated from our university 25, 20, 15 years ago, in which they shared memories of their student years and warm reviews of Alma Mater and their faculty. Twenty-year-old graduates of the faculty established scholarships for the best students on their own behalf and made memorable gifts to their teachers. The culmination of the celebration was the concert performance of students of amateur performances and the grand Ball of graduates, which takes place only within the walls of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
