April 20, 2019 in the Assembly Hall of the Preparatory Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the regional stage took place in the city of Almaty of the 18th World Student Contest "Chinese Bridge". The theme of this year is “One World, One Family.” At our university, the event is not held for the first time and it is organized by the Confucius Institute with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan. 10 contestants from different educational institutions in the city of Almaty delivered speeches in Chinese, answered questions about the language, culture, and the current situation of China and showed artistic numbers. The jury consisted of representatives and leaders of Chinese companies and teachers of the Chinese language.

According to the results of the competition, the best experts of the Chinese language and culture were determined. The students of our faculty, the faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University won prizes. Namely:

II place was shared by Dikhanbaeva Karina and Niyazova Asylzhan, students of 4 and 2 courses

III place was awarded to Kunasheva Dana and Mustafa Karinea, students of 4 and 2 courses

Now our students will take part in the republican stage of the competition, which will be held at the end of May, and will compete for prizes. Winners of the republican stage will go to China. There they will travel around the country, get acquainted with the culture and will become participants in the World Contest “The Bridge of the Chinese Language”. We wish our students to return with a victory and adequately represent our university in the competition!
