The impeccable victory of Koreans from the Kazakh National University at the 9th International Oratory Contest with the participation of Hanyang University and Namseul University, Republic of Korea

The tradition of the annual international competition of oratory on the basis of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi was founded in 2011. At the beginning of April 2018-2019 school year, the 9th oratory competition was held with the participation of the Universities of Hanyang and Namseul, Republic of Korea.

At the first stage of the competition, written works of foreign students from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and also Kazakhstan were received. Among the participants of the second round were students KazNU them. Al-Farabi and ENU. L.N. Gumilev. The authors of the 13 best reports were invited to the oratorical contest, where the distinguished guests from Korean universities were the judges.

Participants were given the opportunity not only to express their views on issues of concern to them, but also to reveal their oratorical skills and skills, to demonstrate the art of persuasion and work with the audience. Students demonstrated their skills on such topics as “Why do I study Korean?”, “My first trip to Korea”, “Korean medicine and me”, “K-Pop” and others.

The jury included the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Namseul University, Professor Yong Tae Hoon, the manager of the Department of International Cooperation, Professor Chwe Ying Uk, Professor Men D.V. , senior lecturers Chiang Beng Sung, Myong Sung Ok.

The evaluation criteria included the following positions: the content of speech (relevance of the topic, logical and compositional organization of speech, conclusiveness, integrity and depth of reasoning, originality); emotionality (personal aspect, demonstration of spiritual values ​​of the speaker, contact with the audience, public speaking methods); language design of speech (richness of vocabulary, use of expressive means of language, grammatical structure and lack of speech errors; intonational design of speech, tempo, rhythm, timbre, voice strength).

Professor Yun Tae Hoon handed certificates to the winners, among which 1 place - training in the magistracy of Hanyang University and diploma. Holders of 2, 3 and 4 places - a certificate for training for a period of 1 year at the University of Namsoul, as well as certificates and gifts.
