On April 3, 2019, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Spiritual Heritage of Al-Farabi and the Modern East” was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the framework of the VI Farabi readings from April 2-12, 2019.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the R.B. Suleimenova and the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture "Nur-Mubarak".
The conference was attended by the Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture "Nur-Mubarak" Muhammad al-Shahat Abdulhamid Muhammad al-Jindi, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R. B. Suleimenova Absattar kazhy Derbisali, PhD, Professor of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture “Nur-Mubarak” Hasan Hussein Matari (Kazakhstan - Egypt), PhD, Professor of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture “Nur-Mubarak” Madih Abdulla Abdu-l-Jawad, head of the University of Wissen, professor, PhD Tunсay Sevindik (Switzerland), member of the Senate of Wissen University professor, PhD Mustafa Inan (Switzerland), teacher Dr. Sabri Muaz Suleiman (Jordan), leading scientist in studying the heritage of al-Farabi, famous scientist, translator Tadjikova Klara Khashimovna, and also professors, teachers, researchers and students from various institutes and universities.
The purpose of this conference is to promote the rich spiritual heritage of our great ancestor Abu Nasr al-Farabi and to promote the harmonization of the work of today's independent country in the system of international relations, to give impetus to the study of the heritage of al-Farabi in the world, as well as to raise the issue of transferring the heritage of al-Farabi from the original to the Kazakh language.
        The conference worked in several sections. The sections examined the role of Eastern traditional and modern culture, the heritage of Al-Farabi in the implementation of the program “Ruhani zhangyru”.
          At the conference, interesting ideas were put forward regarding the modernization of religion and social structure, put forward by Al-Farabi and currently being implemented, the influence of al-Farabi’s ideas on the development of the culture and economy of Eastern countries.
Mohammed al-Shahat Abdulhamid Mohammed al-Jindi, rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture "Nur-Mubarak" expressing deepest respect for the great thinker put forward the following thesis: "Al-Farabi is a scientist not only of the past, but also a scientist of the present, as well as the future. The topics raised by him will remain relevant for modern society and for the future generation. ” At the end of the speech, he expressed confidence that the good initiatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will be continued further.
