On December 3, 2020, a round table “Abai and the Eastern world” was held in an online format, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great poet Abai Kunanbayev. The event was organized by the faculty of Oriental studies of al-Farabi Kazakh National University and R. B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental studies.

On November 27, 2020, 2nd year students of the Korean Studies Department of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University al-Farabi within the framework of the project "I believe in young!" held a cultural and educational event "Student life is an interesting life!", dedicated to the International Day of Students.
The national Institute of the Korean language is responsible for the implementation of South Korea's language policy, both within and outside the country. Thanks to the goal of this Institute to improve the level of knowledge of the Korean language, both native speakers and foreigners, the Institute expands the boundaries of cooperation between countries and universities.
On November 26, 2020, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in cooperation with the Turksib District Department of Education of Almaty City held the International scientific and practical online conference on "Pedagogical and humanistic ideas of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi" dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the great philosopher Abu Nasr Al-Farabi. The conference is intended to attract public attention to Al-Farabi's scientific heritage and the effective use of the concepts of the great scientist as national values.
Within the framework of the 1150th anniversary of the great philosopher, scientist Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, a series of "Leadership lectures" of international level for teachers of Arabic language, doctoral students and masters, initiated by the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Middle East and South Asia of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, continues.
To the 1150th anniversary of the great thinker, scientist Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Department of Middle East and South Asia, a series of "Leadership lectures" continues for teachers of Arabic language, PhD students and masters.
On October 23, 2020, in the online format, as part of the Shin Sede student circle, an advisory hour was held on the topic "Scientific research methodology: the experience of preparing scientific projects and articles" with the participation of 2nd year students of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
On the 30th of October, this year, an online meeting was held with the staff of the Institute of Languages and Culture of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Russian Federal University with teachers of the Department of Turksoy, Faculty of Oriental Studies. The purpose of the meeting is to develop educational and scientific space between the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the leading university of the Republic of Sakha.
