Language Сlubs of the chair of diplomatic translation

In 2008, the University administration supported the initiative of the Head of the Chair of Diplomatic Translation, associate professor Altynay Baytukayeva to organize the languages clubs. Currently four languages clubs function at the Faculty of International Relations; English club, German Club, Spanish and French Club. The main goals of the clubs are: to create the environment for improving language practice of the students; to introduce the students to the international relations experience and cooperation with the RK; to introduce the students of the International Relations Department to the international educational programmes. For example on April 12, at the faculty of international relations was held a party «Тәуелсіздік – тұғырым», devoted to the 20^th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan . The party was organized by the students of groups 91 and 93 of international law specialty and teachers L.Duiseeva and M.Dzhamaldinova. The aim of this event is the educating the youth in the spirit of patriotism and love for the country. It was held in a creative atmosphere. After the report on the history of the Independence students have presented a musical composition which has given to action even more solemn character. Congratulatory words of "foreign visitors» from the different countries which have sounded in different languages became the culmination moment of the event. The director of department for educational work and development of languages G.A.Sarsenbekova has highly appreciated curator hour and has thanked students and the curator-advisers for active participation in the event.

Scientific students’ club of Diplomatic translation department

As of 2000 there has been the students’ scientific educational study group on modern oriental languages department of International relations faculty in KazNU. In connection with a wide spectrum of activity beginning with 2008 the study group changed its name to the “Club”. The main purpose of this club is the deepest acquaintance of students, getting trained in oriental languages, with eastern world, its history, culture, national customs and traditions, also the studying of political and economic development of eastern countries.

The club’s work plan is composed by a general discussion together with the students of international relations faculty. In compliance with the work plan students and teachers speak with their reports regarding to the affirmed subject. The activity of the club is also accompanied with meetings with Embassy representatives of different countries and eastern countries analysts of research institute in Almaty.

Since 2000 students and teachers within the bounds of club’s work have conducted a number of educational meetings with the ambassador of Turkey in Kazakhstan mister Hassan Kaplan, the ambassador of Palestinian autonomy in Kazakhstan mister M.Tarshahani, the director of Strategic research Institute under the President of Kazakhstan mister Siroyezhkin K. L, the chief of “Akzhunis” program madam Abedinova S. and the staff of the program, economic adviser of the ambassador of Turkey in Kazakhstan, councilor of the ambassador of Egypt in Kazakhstan, culture and information adviser of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Kazakhstan professor Hayati Tufekchiolu and the president of Scientific centre “Turkey” under the ambassy in Turkey mister Abraham Essen, the scientist A.Abdimanuly, the head of culture and science department of embassy of China in Kazakhstan mister Chzhan Hun Vejem, the representative of embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan mister Kakumaru, the DPhil, professor N.Muhammedhanuly, famous orientalist, the translator of eastern poets O.Kumisbayev, famous theologist, author of the book “Amazing secrets of the Universe”, doctor of Philology professor of KazNU Berikbayev Sagyndykuly.

There were round tables in the club about the Arabic-Iranian conflicts, USA policy according to the Caspian region, the customs of the Korean nation, sports and culture in Japan, religious movements in China, democracy in Arabic countries, relations between Kazakhstan and China devoted to the 160 anniverssary of Abay Kunanbayev, the Islam in world politics, situation between Egypt and Sudan, ethnic chineessee policy, cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in scientific-educational sphere, cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, Kazakh history in Arabic sources, the role of China in globalization era, democratic development in Arabic society, theory of interpretation. The teachers and students of the department with the huge interest participate in round tables and debates of the club and actively contribute to the conduction of the event on high level.
