29 of october 2019 on the eve of national holidays 175 years anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev on the military department Kazakh national university Al-Farabi with students  at the military department and with students of the Almaty Electromechanical College held a musical and literary evening "Great Abai."

Opened this event Chief of the military department Kazakh national university Al-Farabi reserve colonel Azhimov O.V., who emphasized the importance of studying the creative heritage of Abayi in the matter of patriotic education of Kazakhstan youth. The purpose of this event is the promotion of patriotism and love for the motherland, creative heritage of the great poet, increasing interest in the culture, language and literature of the Kazakh people.

Abai reading help unleash the creative potential of students and school youth , raise the cultural level, and develop their abilities. 

During the event, students and teachers of the military department performed musical and literary performances using the famous poems of the great Abay. Students Matanov Daniyar, Tleukhan Azamat, Turgumbayev Margulan, Zakarin Nurmakhan, performed popular Kazakh play «Аққу күйі — халық күйі», «Балбырауын күйі», «   Адай күйі». The verses performed by the older lecturer of the military department were recited intently Colonel Reserve Ikhanbaev B.M. and with student Pazylov Shingyskhan, Myrza Ernat, Sadvakasov Kazbek. At the end of the evening, the participants in the readings performed the Kazakh folk dance «Кара жорга». Summing up the event, Deputy Head of the Military Department Colonel Reserve M. Toekin handed over the collections of verses of Abay to the administration of the Almaty Electromechanical College and passed the symbolic relay race of readings.
