Students of the gymnasium of the Center "Bobek" at the military department of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University remembered exploits of our people.  On the eve of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the military department of the university, a set of measures was planned to promote the achievements of the country's advanced university, the fighting and labor feats of our people. As part of this plan, on November 20 and 21, 2018, an open day for high school students of the National Center "Bobek" was held at the military department of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the military department of the KazNU named after Al - Farabi, Colonel O.V. Azhimov made a speech before high school students. During his speech, Colonel O. Azhimov spoke about the history of the oldest university in Kazakhstan - al-Farabi Kazakh National University, about the directions of development and achievements of the university. Today Al Farabi Kazakh National University is in the top - 220 world universities and includes 16 faculties, 7 National Research Institutes, a science and technology park of 30 research centers, a modern scientific library, 14 academic buildings, 16 hostels, a Keremet student service center. The faculties are students of 81 undergraduate specialties and 84 graduate programs. At the military department of the university, students are trained in 17 military specialties, and since 2015, for the first time, girls have been recruited in five military specialties.

When displaying the educational and material base of the military department, high school students familiarized themselves with educational audiences on tactical-technical, fire, intelligence training, military psychology and communications.  The training and combat equipment of motorized rifle troops and air defense forces of the Land Forces was demonstrated. The students showed particular interest in the work of an interactive laser shooting gallery, a dynamic simulator of the Combat Infantry Machine - 2, an electronic simulator of MANPADS. In the Center of Military - Patriotic Education of the Military Department, which includes the nominal audience of the national heroes of Kazakhstan S.Nurmagambetov, B.Momyshuly, the room of military patriotic education and the correspondent center of the Republican military - patriotic newspaper "Sarbaz", the lecture on the history of the Armed Forces Republic of Kazakhstan and heroes - Kazakhstan.  At the end of the event, students and female students of the military department were shown front-line techniques, passing with a solemn march and song.
