Graduate of the faculty of philosophy and political sciences at al-Farabi Kazakh National University (1994). Since 1994 to 1998 – post graduate of the department history of Kazakh and foreign philosophy at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

In January 1999 successfully defended the candidate’s thesis by specialty 24.00.01 – The theory of culture, for theme “The problems in identification of traditional culture of Kazakh people”.

Since 1999 works at the department of history of Kazakh and foreign philosophy as senior teacher. Since 2002 – as docent at the same department.

Since 2000 to 2007 – head of the master’s degree department. Since 2002 to 2004 – the assistant of faculty dean for curriculum work. 2005 – 2007 – senior research assistant at the department of history of philosophy and cultural sciences (al-Farabi Kazakh National University). 2008 – defended the doctoral thesis for theme “The marginality as a cultural problem” by specialty 24.00.01 – The theory and history of culture. Since 2009 – professor at the department of cultural studies.

Massalimova has over 100 scientific publications. In addition she has an authority in a number of model programs; educational-methods of teaching “Cultural studies” (2002); course of lectures for “Cultural studies” (2003); educational supplies for “Cultural studies” (2006, 2007); monograph “The phenomena of marginality in the culture” (2007); educational supplies for “Introduction to specialty”(2009). Co-author of the textbooks “Philosophy” and “Culturology” (2001-2004, under the management of Gabitov T.H.), of “Dictionary for philosophical-cultural studies” (2004, 2007), of the textbook “Culture and civilization” (2005), recommended by Ministry of Education and Sciences.
