The chair of Russian philology, Russian and world literature of faculty of philology, literary criticism and world languages is organized in 2011 by a way of merge of three chairs of philological faculty: Russian, Russian and world literature, Russian philology.
These chairs for many years occupied one of key places in the history of development of a philological science of the former Soviet Union and modern Kazakhstan, the most philological faculty and university as a whole because possessed considerable scientific, research, pedagogical and methodical experience which was saved up by generations of outstanding scientists, academicians, the professors, widely known outside of the country, founders of various philological schools of sciences and the directions.
The chair of Russian philology, Russian and world literature carries out training of specialists on specialties «Philology: Russian philology» (bachelor degree, magistracy, doctoral studies of PhD), «Russian and literature» (bachelor degree, magistracy, doctoral studies of PhD). All teaching staff of chair has the basic education corresponding to a profile of teaching disciplines.
