Creation at university of atmosphere of free scientific search, competition of scientific ideas, opinions and decisions – here main principles of research process in system NIR and НИРС. Advancing development fundamental and basic researches in the higher school should define new, more optimum structure – «НИРС - a high school science».
With a view of perfection and development of scientific creativity of students, developments of their mental potential the chair of the general and ethnic pedagogics involves students in performance of scientific and research works. Competitions within the limits of celebrating of Day of a science are annually held.
2009 – competition for students and schoolboys «Young talents – the future of Kazakhstan».

Competitions of student's scientific works is a symbol of democratisation of a scientific life of the higher school, possibility of realisation of ideas of intellectualization of grooving generation.
We put essentially new sense in the concept of «student's scientific work»: assumes not only development of methodology and a technique of carrying out of researches, their planning and the organisation, the analysis of the known domestic and foreign information on a work theme, but also realisation of a creative plan of the future researcher, forecasting of results, definition of ways of the further development of work, the innovation offer – techniques, technology or innovative ways of the decision of a problem.
Student's scientific work should be characterised by objectivity, reproducibility, proneness, accuracy of the received results. Objectivity and reliability of scientific conclusions depend on the general approach to understanding of essence of studied processes and the phenomena.
Besides the given characteristics following demands are made to competitive scientific works:
should represent independent scientific research of an actual problem within the limits of the direction of research selected students (pedagogical, psychological-pedagogical, social-pedagogical, social-psychological etc.);
to testify to achievement by the student of necessary level of theoretical and practical preparation;
to show ability of the student theoretically comprehend and analyze the phenomena and the processes occurring in a society, to use modern methods of scientific research and independently to do scientific conclusions on the basis of studying of the facts;
to have the practical importance and prospect of application of results in the further scientific researches;
to differ clearness, laconicism of a statement, a combination of argument put forward positions, ability to place accents in order to avoid excessive concentration on a material which is not working on a theme.
