Military-patriotic work undertaken by the military department of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi in the period of 2008-2010.

  "Today the state is interested primarily in such a delicate matter as the work with young people. It is very important to bring up new generation in military and patriotic sentiment, "said President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

  State order for the education of the individual, the formation of its civil and patriotic consciousness is defined in the founding documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and above all in the state program "Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the ways of creation and development of the state system of patriotic education. This document has become a vital instrument to prepare citizens to ensure the sovereignty and security of our country, protecting its national interests.

    In accordance with the Decree of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 10, 2006 № 200 "About state program of patriotic education of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan", in 2008-2010 by the Teachers’ Staff of the Department, was laid the requirement of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces - the President of our country Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on the formation of civic consciousness of students to obtain knowledge about the history of their country, region, education of the younger generation with the spirit of patriotism and love for their country as an example of courage and exploits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan into base of the educational patriotic work with students undergoing military training.

     Every year on the eve of Victory Day and the anniversary of the Armed Forces conducted a month of defense-mass and the military-patriotic work.
     During this period there was held a parade of the soldier system and the songs "Good in the ranks, mighty in battle" between the platoons, studying in the department, and in summer during periodical field training between platoons, undergoing field training.
     During the month it was conducted lessons of courage and conversation: "About the Courage, about the Valor, about the Glory," " Have the Honor," "Let’s bow to the sacred those years," People’ Exploit lives forever ", " No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”,  "Serve the Republic of Kazakhstan" and others which were not only within the department, but also in the military unit 61993 in Almaty, according to the joint plans of work with the participation of military, officers and soldiers under the contract.

   Military-patriotic educational work of students at the military department realizing by the following directions:

 First. Extensive propagation of domestic and foreign policies among the students;

 Second. Propagation of policy advocacy of peace and friendship between nations, our country's achievements in economic development, science and culture, raising the people's welfare;

 Third. Inculcate in young people high vigilance and constant readiness to defend the homeland;

 Fourth. Clarification the features of modern military and political situation, propaganda war and labor traditions of our nation;

 Fifth. Inculcate in young people a sense of pride of exploits of the older generation and desire to imitate them;

 Sixth.  Propagation the idea of protecting native state.

   It becomes a tradition on the eve of Victory Day students of military department cook in the field kitchens soldier's mess for veterans of World War II, who honors the university rector's office and invited guests.

  It is here students come into contact with feats committed by gray-haired veterans who tearfully tell about the most terrible war, about the conclusions of which are so necessary now which is need to avoid such situation again.

  The competition of posters, newspapers, essays devoted to Month activities was held. Competition of readers "To Serve Motherland destined for you and me" took place which was attended by 125 people. Students chose a product not only lyrical genre, but also prose works.

   In the library, in the methodology of educational and socio-legal work classroom was held an exhibition named “Military Glory, Valor and Honor."

   Every year on the eve of Victory Day a day of courage under the motto "With the excellent training and preparing to defend the homeland we will continue to exploit the fathers-heroes”, with the aim to ensure that students understand their future role as Defender of the country, to understand the relationship of our heroic past with the present, more responsible role in military training holds with students studying in the department within the week.

   Annual monthly defense-mass and the military-patriotic work was conducted in the department at a high level. Aims and objectives of the Month -to create a system of patriotic and spiritual - moral education in the military department for the formation of a socially active individual citizen and patriot, with the sense of national pride, civic pride, love to homeland, its people and a willingness to protect it - actively put into every days training . Work in this area is not only within one month, but throughout the semesters.

       
    Besides the patriotic work during the Month, it was held meetings with the student cadets of military institutions of the Army, Radio-electronics and Communications. Meeting with graduates of the military department, and currently serving in the Armed Forces Lt. Aytakynov T. K. Lt. Ikert E. I., Lt. Akulin M. A., Lt. Moldaliyev T. A., Lt. Molgapzhdar R. K., with officers that have fulfilled their military duty in Afghanistan, Lt. Col. Niyazbaev M. I., Lt. Perepelitsa V. I., Col. Khalafov G. I., Col. Lobkov N. K., Col. Baymoldinov S. K., during which students are learned with the distant, but the terrible events of the Afghan war, with the conditions and modalities of military service, study, everyday life of students and military personnel.

   As mandated by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the period from 3 to 6 February 2009 in Almaty were conducted events of International action, "We are Internationalists" devoted to 20 - anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the Republic of Afghanistan.
      The event was held by the initiative of the Coordinating Council committee of soldiers-internationalists at the Council of Heads of Government - the Commonwealth of Independent States.

   On the "Class of courage", that was held by the program of the action, in the military department of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi was attended by participants of the Afghan war - "Warriors - Internationalists":
  Doinik Turlais, a member of the Senate of the Republic of Latvia, a retired colonel (1986-1989 a Head of the Operational Department in 1940-th Army).
  Snegirev Vladimir Nikolaevich- a political columnist for “Russian Newspaper”, a retired colonel (1984-1986 Deputy Chief of Staff of the unit).
  Abikeev Zhahyn Saginhazievich - Deputy Chairman of the soldiers-internationalists, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
  Kuprienko Vyacheslav Nikolaevich - a businessman (1980-1982 Special Forces company commander, reserved Lt. Col.).                                              
  Elubaev Kairat Menhibaevich, a Chairman of the Afghan war veterans, Astana, a retired colonel.
  Baturin Alexander Grigoryevich – a Member of the Council of Veterans of the war in Afghanistan, Astana (1980-1982 Private paratrooper), Kazakhstan.

     At the meeting, which was attended by students, invited guests didn’t limit only presentations and stories about military operations, but also sang songs, recited poems about the war in Afghanistan. Action "We are Internationalists” ended with Gala-concert at the Palace of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of popular singers and creative teams of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security Committee, the Republican Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Warriors - Internationalists.

    With a feeling of sincere respect to the liberators students placed flowers at the monument to the soldiers-liberators of World War II, soldiers of the Afghan war in the park named after Panfilov, visited the museum of the Great Patriotic War, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where directly had a contact with documents, awards, and photographs of those distant years. Students felt that the events of the war were carried out not some by made-up people, but they were done by the own grandfather and great-grandparents, and many of them are still found alive and well remembers.
     It was conducted tours to military unit 61993, the Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, "Kazbat" - Kazakh peacekeeping battalion, to get acquainted with the life of students and soldiers, equipments and weapons, which are adopted in these units.  

    The most memorable event, attended by students of periodical field training, was the celebration of 10 anniversary of the formation of airborne troops (July 2010) there students saw at first hand, what represents the service in the airborne troops.

   Ceremonial march with the removal of military flags of units, airborne troops landing, conducting the combat operations, the capture and captivity of saboteurs, firing artillery, paratroopers’ demonstration of hand- to- hand fighting, showing the most modern equipment and weapons, are adopted in the airmobile troops, rewarding the best warriors of the land troops, concert of amateur artistic work.

     Interviews, information, individual and educational work to promote the basic directions of domestic and foreign policy of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Supreme Commander, also the Parliament and the Government, it is well-established system of educational activities in the hours of work, provided the daily routine of the department.
     As the participants  of the republican scientific-practical conference "The spiritual and moral, military and philosophical heritage and the problems of upbringing of Kazakhstani patriotism " carried out under the program Bauyrzhan’s readings, students are introduced to the spiritual heritage of the great son of the Kazakh people Bauyrzhan Momyshuly. At the conference, sounded his voice, which said: "Patriotism is not expressed in other words: I love my country and I’m ready to sacrifice my life for it. Love for motherland ought to be proved. I suffered a belief that love for the motherland begins with love for his parents, brothers and sisters, his village, the city where he was born and raised, to their nation, remained in the memory of everyone who cherish their ancestral land ".

    A special place in the activities of the department in preparing students assigned to physical training, which includes: acquisition of skills, insurance and lanyard, control and self-control, movement of cross country (motocross race, running 100 meters) overcoming obstacles (running on an obstacle), strength training ( various exercises on the bar, pulling up on the number of times the output power, the rise of a coup, complex strength training, weight lifting), bases of hand- to- hand fighting, etc. For all the above exercises are carried out competition for the best students in the power sports, the best platoon conducted Football matches during the training and field fees of students.

    Among the total package of measures aimed at strengthening the defense of our country, it focuses on improving the quality of classes on basic military training and military-patriotic education of young people.
    In order to solve these problems, on the basis of the military department, our teachers conducted classes with students of senior classes of Bostandyq district on the Study of weapons, equipment, basic tactical training in the field, organized and conducted meetings of students with students. Officers of the department were the judges at the military school sports games Ulan. By participating in these activities, we tried to carry out professional work in order to attract high school graduates for admission to the country's leading university, so only in 2010 after the work undertaken in the High School number 21, the Kazakh National University named after  Al-Farabi entered 9 graduates. On the basis of the military department classes are conducted with the students of the University College of primary military training, which will positively affect the overall training and education of college students.

    October 15, 2008 at the military department of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi was held a roundtable on the topic: "The patriotis among the young people." 

   Which was attended by:
    - Representative of the Ministry of Defense Colonel Mamsurov K.V. (spoke on the organization of the military-patriotic works in military units and sub-units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan with military personnel and family members);
    - The officers who performed their military duty in a limited contingent in Afghanistan before, Lt. Col. Perepelitsa V., Lt. Col. Niyazbaev M.I. (spoke on the international duty of military personnel of various categories during the conducting of combat actions);
   - Students studying at the military department of the Kazakh National University named after  Al-Farabi, as well as students enrolled in high school (made speeches on the issues: what is patriotism, the patriotism of warriors from Afghan war, as we see the raising of the roles and responsibilities for the organization and conduct of military-patriotic education of students).
Roundtable participants were unanimous in the opinion that the national-patriotic education - is an education that teaching values that are the basis for uniting the nation and the revival of spiritual and moral values - an integral part of the national idea.

      In July of 2008 -2010 by tradition, at the invitation of the Institute of Radio-Electronics Command and Communication students attend the celebrations of the issues of young officers who are held at the monument to the heroes – Panfilov’s unit , in anticipation of graduation of our students from the military department that has a positive effect on their preparation for the final stage study.
                   

     Special period of life, causing a sense of pride in belonging to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a sense of belonging to the protection of the motherland is during the annual martial charges before certification for assigning military rank. Students at the dues drive combat vehicles, perform special exercises, firing from all types of small arms, machine guns, grenade launchers, pistols, grenade throws, are fighting fire with anti-aircraft installations AAI-23-2, and act in the company tactical exercises.

     Within a month the students involved in military training, actually experiencing the hardships of military service and contact with the everyday life of army life, which is a powerful factor in fostering sense of patriotism and love to the motherland.
     Annually on completion of periodical training students take the oath of allegiance. Future sergeants in reserve are proud to take an oath of allegiance to be brave and courageous defender of the homeland, the state interests of Independent Kazakhstan. Leading to the oath of allegiance of students as a reference point, followed by a deeper understanding of the need to serve the Fatherland, as well as an important and exciting moment in the military-patriotic education of future sergeants.

     Students forever keep in their memory the meetings with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaksybekov A.K. , First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel -General Zhasuzakov S.,A. Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Dzhulamanov N.A., who visited the department, acquainted with the conditions of study, talked with the students at the military department.
               
     The existing system of military - patriotic education really helps to manage the process of preparing students to defend the homeland, gives the whole work of the consistency, coherence and focus, provides continuity in the organization and development of military - patriotic activities of students and the entire teaching staff of the department.
