Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty trains bachelors, masters and PhDs in 5 specialties: "Mathematics", "Informatics", "Mechanics", "Information Systems", "Mathematical and Computer Modeling." There are 3 levels of studying professions. There are 10 departments to teach these specialties. Currently, the Mechanics and Mathematics is the supreme center among other educational institutions to prepare these specialties. Presently, at over 1300 students are trained on three levels of the faculty. Involved more than 40 doctors and professors, 70 associate professors and candidates of sciences are in the process of learning. State standards of the specialties Mathematics", "Information", "Mechanics", "Information Systems", "Mathematical and Computer Modeling" for higher education enterprises are being developed by Professors of Kazakhstan. The Faculty teachers have published text books and handbooks just for the higher education institutions of the Republic. 22 Professors and teachers of the Faculty were given a Grant “The best teacher of Higher Education institution”, more than 10 of teaching staff have got an International Grant. The Faculty investigations are mainly carried out by the Research Institute of Mechanics and Mathematics. Theoretical and Applied studies are conducted over 200 million tenge each year. The Institute scientists in cooperation with the scientists of the USA, the UK, Germany, France, Japan, China and other foreign states carry out international investigations due to financing by ISTC, INTAS, TACIS, Euro, UNESCO. Professors W.A. Zholdasbekov, G.U. Ualiev, A.A. Ermolov were granted the State Award in Education and Science of the Kazakh SSR in 1994, Professors B.T. Zhumagulov, Sh.S. Smagulov, N. T. Danayev were was awarded the State Prize in Engineering, Science and Education.
In 2004, Professors Sh. Ershin and U.A .Zhapbasbayev in 2005, Professor S.A Aisagaliev became winners of the K.Satpayev Prize. In 1999, Professor N. Bliev won an international of the 1st grade award of Khworizmi. Professors Sh. Ershin, W.A Zhapbasbayev, A. Kaltayev, S.A. Badayev, U.Abdibekov, associate professors D.K. Kim, A.Akzhalova, phD-doctor M. Tungatarova, Zh.Ualiev, B. Bekbauov were awarded grants from ISTC, INTAS, TACIS, UNESCO.
Young scientists Zh.T. Talasbayeva, M. Tungatarova, N.A. Orshubekov became the winners of the Prize of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
