Coordination of the scientific activities at the Department is carried out by the Research Institute of Mechanics and Mathematics (SRI MM) of the al-Farabi KazNU.

Scientific work is carried out by 10 departments and 5 MM Research Institute laboratories in various areas of basic and applied research. Students actively participate in scientific researches and social life of the faculty. They are also involved in carrying, out research projects at the Institute of MM.
